HID Lighting and HPS Label

I'm confused on HID Lighting Systems, How come some systems have HID ballasts but when i select option for purchasing is thats 1000w HPS... Does that mean its HID or what?

Stupid question that I need Answered

HID is the type of lighting i forget whats it stands for sorry. But for HPS that stands for high pressure sodium wich is the type of bulb you will be using in your HID light. HPS just stands for the type of bulb like MH. You will be buying a 1000Watt HID system with a 1000Watt Hps Bulb...Get it?bongsmilie

It's best to use an MH bulb for veg and an HPS for flowereing,however a HPS ballast can only light a HPS bulb so if you have an HPS ballast you need a conversion bulb thats a MH/HPS bulb for a HPS ballast you can also get a HPS/MH conversion if your ballast is for a MH. HPS high pressure sodium, MH metal halide. Hope I didn't confuse you but I bought a 400Watt HPS light so now I need to get a MH/HPSconversion bulb so I can use my HPS light fixture and ballast to veg with an MH bulb.Hope that clears this up. But to make it easier you can use an HPS for veg and flower , just that the MH is a little better for veg ........

This thread hasn't been posted in for almost a month, I'm guessing the op figured all though out

if you get a digital ballast it will fire both mh and hps. but if you buy a 600w kit they do not make a 600w mh bulb. they do make a 600w mh conversion bulb though and they cost an arm and a leg. Im not sure why this is but its kinda lame.
