Hidden Micro Grow

I have an idea of growing a plant behind my computer in my desk.. No not in the computer.

Grow space isn't terrible, about 2'x1'x1'

I'm thinking like a small, 3 or 4 CFL grow, open air space, 12-12 from seed sort of micro grow.

Any precedent on something like this?
opinions and information greatly appreciated.

literally it's just about the grow, not the yield. an eighth would suffice i'm just a constructive person and would love to try!

U should go for it but it sounds a lil small? There are lots of threads bout small grows around this forum =) Maybe u should check the "CFL forum"?

ya... you know in all actuality this is problem posted in the wrong place. Being high as normal, I typed it, submitted, then proof read and found that i just kinda threw it in "indoor grow"... not really thinking. FuMyLi!

I'm just a hobbyist really, I don't grow out of necessity so anything can sound fun in my opinion. Just looking for people doing similar, maybe try and perfect on that. What's the best kind of soil set up I can have for this. Preferably something easily accessible over quality. As short of a grow as this might be, shouldn't I be able to find some sort of slow-release soil that could just nutrient feed this plant the whole grow? Or take the majority of the work at least.
