hide trap door..

I'm know buildologist or anything, but your planned design https://www.rollitup.org/attachments/...use-design.jpg seems horribly inefficient as far as space goes. Also, why do you need so much room for drying, and such a wide hallway? Most hallways are less than 4' wide. If you're going to have a hidden basement for growing weed, you might as well use all the space. So how about something a little more like this?
Oviously it's rough, and you need to take into account wall width and things like that. The stairs should be directly under the door, so wouldn't actually stick out like that unless you're building some sort of handicap accessible ramp.

no but the staris arn't gonna be like a ladder.. so they would naturally have to be longer then 2.5'.. i was planning on having 2 mothers in with the veg room on a table using floros for light.. how did you get the grid on the pic like that?

I looked up 'graph paper' on photobucket and copy and pasted it, then just drew on top of it.

theres tons of them...the best i saw is a stairway leading down to a second level and at a click of a button the stair well raised up by gears to reveal a hidden stairwell leading to the lower lower level of the house.... that would be pimp...

elevator, the pantry floor. They sell them for invalids.

i forgot to mention that my house is a single story with an 8ft high basement

fucking awesome idea sounds like a great house and yeah the hydraulics thing or a rug or something but with that space im guessing this is for more than personal use have fun rolling in a big pile of money and bud in your secret underground lair

I don't know how the main floor is laid out, but here's a thought...

Cut the floor piece of a kitchen cabinet. Now cut the floor of your house(just under the cabinet) which leads to your stairs. So, in order to get into your grow room, you will need to get in through your kitchen cabinet.

This is the way I've got my house set up in order to access the grow room. 7 years has passed since it's been this way.
