Bend and pop. when i crush and fold they usually spring right back . tonight i discovered that if i pinch with fingers or against a screwdriver and fold....just past 90 and then pinch across the fold or at 90 degrees to it the upper part pops between my fingers and the plant is not going to recover back to normal anytime soon. this is great. the plant will stay bent over but be absolutely fine..... the most prominant branches here were not bent and popped... i tried but it was too late.... you have to do it all at once.. pinch, fold, and pinch across the points of the fold... pop!!!! done. the stem is "bronken" but trust me its fine.... this plant was growing too fast.... the light is about 1" above the fan.... i do this all the time... the bend and pop was pretty intense though. i feel better anyway. come on sheila i know you can make it...

I think pop and loc would be a great name if it hadn't already been discovered. I'm thinking a person could do pretty much whatever crossed their mind with plants and it's been done before. Congratulations on learning and happy growing! Oh plants look great!

You discovered super cropping! :bigjoint:

super cropping was always crush and bend... the plants stand right back up without tying them down... this solves that. but you are correct, this is supercropping but supercropping as typically practiced strives not to break the stem... this breaks the top of the folded stem... the part that would lift the plant if it stayed intact . anyway.. i just though it was cool the way it was working for me... and might be worthwhile to others who wanna make sure the plants don't rebound by the next day.

Go to the auto repair a store and buy 18" extended needle nose pliers and wrap the ends with tape about 8 times. Then you can pop em and drop em fast, and have reach

the results: very even canopy indeed. i had a couple risers that i took care of.... and i popped a couple that were already bent yesterday by folding them past 90 to create pressure in the bend and then pinching. nice clean breaks through top half of stem. broken on purpose and no tape. take that super croppers. its great. "crackin it cropping" ? these buds are forming up so weird though? (last pic) almost looks like a sunflower or something...
welcome to my garden

well even the branches i popped stood back up... bought me about 1-2 inches max. another user stated that watering more than every 4 hours just increased stretch and increased water uptake causing branches to be more likely to break pop. maybe thats what was going on? day 50 . seems alright. low nitrogen 100ppm, low Ca 40 ppm, high K 300ppm, high S 160ppm, pretty high P at 85ppm. yawn. 10 gal res changed weekly... roots 70f top of canopy 80f lots of air. rh50-60 day night. 200 watts of light max. canopy is dense as i've ever grown it. so mold might be an issue well see. still growing but slowing down.
