shit, im about 4 weeks until harvesting 7 plants and haven't even began to do any research on drying/curing the end result. :( wonder how well this will go trying to dry in my basement grow area.

What's the RH in the area that you will be drying? 50% is perfect, imo. Anything higher than that and you will want to look in to a dehumidifier or a different spot in the house to dry.

You also want some indirect light, and indirect air flow. Mold grows best in warm, dark, humid conditions. Given that, you want to have *constant* indirect light present where you will be drying ..... so your flowering room should be avoided. The light in there will be too intense, and only on for 12 hours. Too much light will begin to degrade THC and convert it in to CBN.

I keep a small light turned on at the far side of the room I'm drying in, and a fan turned on low that is circulating air, but not blowing directly on the buds. Depending on how you initially trim the buds when they're wet, you should have buds ready for being jarred in 10-14 days.

What's the RH down there? Anything above 60 your asking for trouble, both growing and drying.

Not to nitpick, but light DOES NOT degrade thc. UV does, if your talking HPS lighting there is virtually none. Depending on how your drying (wet trim or trimming dry) stuff should be dry in days well before botrytis has any chance to set in. The number one factor for molds/spores is the humidity levels, even in direct light I'm sure 80% rh would equal spore germination.

Air flow is good, my room turns the air pretty well, you just don't want a pocket of high humidity, but very correct not to have the fan blowing on the buds.

i use a 4 x4 x 6 grow tent as my drying room. works perfect. run a small fan and leave one of the vents patially open. no smell outside the tent and 55-60% rh inside 75 degrees. as stow said 10-14 days and i'm jarring. by the way i don't trim until they are dry and i hang the whole plant minus the rootball.

im running 48-50% max in my flower tent and 50-60 in veg tent. both are in a basement. ambient basement temps with both tents lighted up is 77*. ill try and get a rh number this weekend. I do have a 1200sq' basement. and have the option to run my portable ac unit as a dehumidifier and use in the basement if really needed.

rh was answered above. I grow on one wall of the basement, I was planning on hanging/drying on the other side of the basement about 20' away.
