Hindu kush x Pineapple kush x Sour Diesel

any opinion on seeds of this nature? If I can ever get these pups to sprout I'll give them a go. I have only used bag seed thus far. Are hybrids harder to care for?

Hybrids come in every growing ability.. from easy to difficult.

Many of the Kush varieties are difficult for beginners to grow. I've been growing headband kush (og Kush x SourDiesel) for a few years. It took me at least 4 cycles to start to really get a handle on it.

Do you have seeds from this cross listed?

I got these from a reputable breeder, not sure what you're asking. I have my 5th grow in flower, all have been an indica strain bag seed. Any advise as to the problems with growing these "special" strains?

help.jpgHey guys,

I have to say all are kick ass strains. As for popping the seeds, i use 2 bowls. One larger, one smaller. I also make sure that they mate up, meaning when one is placed on top of and opposing the other they create a dome if you will. I place a little water on bottom, then put just above the water line some stiff screen. Like plastic screen you would use for crosshatching. I then place a paper towel over that screen, allowing the edges to dip in the water. Then place your seeds on top of that paper towel. Place another paper towel on top of the seeds. Lastly put the other bowl on top, place on a heat source (router, microwave, back top of the fridge, you get the point). I average 95% seed pop. Hope that helps. The strains are good though. Listen to J though, he is good with the above names. Just hope this helps. I drew a pic to show what i mean. Just dont laugh at my mad drawling skills.

while the above manner is great to pop the seeds, and make sure they are viable, it also gives the opportunity for damage done to the tap root when planting. For the last few years I've stopped all other germ methods other than just plain old wet soil. sometimes I'll put plastic wrap over the pot with a rubber band around it and leave it under the lights for a little green house effect, but I take off the plastic as soon as the seed pokes its head out. I will immediately place the new sprout where a circulating fan will blow across the new seedling, doing this will ensure the seedling develops a strong stem and root structure before it tries to start stretching. this stunts the upward growth for a day or two, but is only beneficial in the long run.

I agree, it does carry a risk to the new plant. I just love knowing I've planted something that is going to grow. Eases my nerves. Just the way I've always done it. As for the fan, 100% on your side. As soon as my sprouts break the surface, I put a light breeze over them. It will make a sizable difference in the end. Just enough to make them shake in the wind. Without using a booster agent, this is the best way to get a substantial stock. Ive seen 4 foot plants that have stalks the size of coke cans because they started with the fan. Some introduce it later on. I say the earlier the better. As for the hybrid being more difficult to grow, i say horsewash. The plant doesn't get more difficult, just the amount of understanding its growth cycle becomes more important, as they are more pedigree in a since. I have faith you will have a great grow. J is def full of knowledge on this subject. My question for you though is, are you going soil or hydro, as this is going to make all the difference as to how you go about popping you hard earned seeds. Oh, and out of those three, SD would be my choice. I wouldn't say it is easier, but it has always been the more kind to me and others I know out of the three you stated, not to mention i think it is super tasty.

OK! Thanks for the advice. I have been using the paper towel and bowl method with great success until I tried these seeds. Waisted 10 seeds already. They are rotting, so I will try starting them in the soil. I have been using Miracle Grow potting mix and too stubburn to change even with all the "bad" I've heard on here but these seeds have convinced me I may need to switch if these are more delicate than what I have been growing. What is your favorite seedling mix? Here I thought I was practiced enough to give good seeds a go but now I feel like a beginner all over again...

Thanks again, to you all, for responding!

I'm like most I switched to soil in a 16oz translucent cup. I hate to say this but I use MG starter soil and I love the shit but most important my seeds love it.

Remember these are eggs and when they pop they don't need much for the first 3 to 4 weeks so don't think I would use regular soil. The organic stuff should work that hubby got you. If it's the same Pro as ProMix it should be good.

I was going to try the Miracle Grow starter soils but he couldn't find it. That's why I broke down and decided to pay the extra for the Fox Farm but this "Pro Mix" reads pretty amazing, seems to have everything I hear people adding to their soil for the extra boost. But still needs the standard nutes added after a couple weeks (as stated on the bag). I actually like the MG potting mix and if it works out I will transplant into it when strong enough. I don't trust myself to stay on top of the nutes all on my own, I like the slow release aspect. Knowing full well that thought makes many cringe LOL.

I took your advice and am trying it your way... How long does it usually take to sprout this way?
