You can just dim it. I bought the 600 rspec last night as it was the same price as the 550. It's going in a 4X4 but will give me some extra power if I need it.

That will be great in your tent; I run my QBs really soft. This allows you to hit the sweet spot for efficiency and really saturate the canopy with PAR.

Cant find a 550 so im thinkin that 600 rspec and dim if i have to.... $700 for a light is a lot but it should grow good weed (as long as i do my part). I got decent ventilation so,600 instead?

That is a great light. I would buy a Killawatt to plug it into. Than you can see exactly what the light is drawing and adjust. The dimmer knob is really best guess without a Killawatt or similar device.

Ok,should be here no later than the 6th. I might be in trouble for spending that much on a light but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. And deeper down the rabbit hole we go lol. I will for sure invest in a killawatt thingy. Thanks again!

Cool, they are expensive. I dealt with the sticker shock myself but they are great lights. Best advice I can give you is 50% at. 30" for veg and. 24" full power for flower. Adjust the light up slowly the 2nd week of 1212 until you reach full power over 5 days or so.

Hey man. So here is what I grew under that HLG 600 Rspec. Was not a perfect run as it was my first run with this light but it did great things. Any issues with the grow was not the light but rather the grower learning how to use it :)

I just finished my first run under LED as well with a scorpion rspec after being pretty dialed in with CMH. Like you Doug, it wasn’t perfect but it gave me a glimpse of what is possible. I ended up with giant buds but the quality just wasn’t there and I blame myself. Was a seed run though so you never really know if the genetics were there to start with. I learned I had keep a warmer room and feed harder. The warmer room caused me to dry back a little too much a few times and I suspect that’s where my main issues came from. I had a really bad stall in like week 4 that I never really came back from.

Nice, the biggest issues I found was first underfeeding as the lights made them gluttons and the big issue of not letting the plants get closing than 24". Anything that got closer than 24" started to foxtail. It stopped when I moved the plants down 6" and turned the draw down to 550. Not a huge issue but good to know for next run. I got some pretty resin covered buds.

Yeah. Genetics are really step one. All the fancy gear in the world wont fix bad genetics. I also added the HLG UV bar that mounts on the 600 so that likely had an effect on trichome production. There were 4 plants in the pic grown in my 4x4 tent. This is the harvest from first plant taken down. I believe in the end I got 30 of these jars in total from the 4 plants. I only weighed one plant as it was the smalles yield and it came to 4.5 oz. Ignore the RH, the readers had just been put in. Also took some bud from each jar and made a 10th jar to give them a bit more room.
