Never been a big "fan" (forgive the pun) of keeping massive fans.

I can get mine to produce palm sized fans within 2 weeks from seed.

Then I take them off, suoercrop and move on from there.

I'm getting over 8oz a plant. Which I never did before I defol'd.

Of you like big leaves mate, good for you. I prefer buds.
Damn, what woke Moody up?
I use a similar method, it works for me.

so why are you removing its leaves then?
Look man, I like you, soyou can just be direct and stop trying to streer me into some imaginary corner. You're clearly using the comparison to advocated some form of pruning.

Thats fine, i lollipop my plants a bit for airflow and to make harvest easier, but i never pull healthy fan leaves from the active canopy of the plant. I top and lst. Thats it. I ran 2 side by side by side comparisons with clones and both came out about the same. The plant i left untouched and the lollipopped plants yeilded within a couple percent of each other and the more aggressively pruned plant yeilded less in the %6 to %8 range. I can see the attraction of aggressive pruning in a large scale operation to reduce labor come harvest time and to minimize the chance for mold, but in a closet/tent/small room application i havent seen anything that makes it worth my time.

I've been around and around with this 'defoliation' debate. I've tried everything from untouched to barely there. Not interested in getting into it again, but I'm sure someone will take the bait.
It's entirely subjective really.

I defol the hell out of mine and get around 40oz per grow from 5 plants in a 5ftx5ft tent.

In that size space if I left the fans on it would simply get too crowded.

Everyone has their own methods.

Do you defoliate during flower at any time?

Crowded is definitely one of the scenarios where i could see it being a viable solution. For my needs though, i don't even need to fill my space up fully to get more than I can reasonably smoke before i start me next grow. It's nice to be able to really spread a plant out and let it breath.

LOL!
There ARE one or two good eggs in there...but...ive lost count of how many people i've bumped into on other forums that say similarly nice things about the place.
The UK needs another cannabis forum. The idea that those clowns are the source of information for UK growers is depressing to say the least.

Not to mention the site itself is dog shit. It reminds me of looking for porn in 2003.

Hopefully the UK will legalise cannabis at some point then when the money comes in someone will make a better site with less socialist horseshit and more actual information.

I remember reading the posts on there about LEDs about 4 years ago. The mods and senior members had no idea what they were talking about, and aggressively went after anyone who disagreed with their archaic opinions. Quite pathetic.

Once there's somewhere else for UK growers to go it'll become like MySpace. A graveyard full of weirdos.

Not really, I find that heavy defol during a long veg stage (I veg for 6-8 weeks) negates the need to defol in flower.

I'll take some leaves off that are shading potential sites, but nowhere near as aggressive as in veg.

Strangely (and this is entirely conjecture) the plants seem to get used to the heavy defol and stop producing the big leaves after a while.

Just my 2 cents. I could be wrong.
