Hollow stems?? Anyone experience this??

Does anyone have any experience with this??? Hollow stems???

1. Grown using aeroponics.
2. Different varieties all effected, at least 6 varieties. Blue Dream, GDP, Kosh Kush, Tora Bora, Blueberry.
3. Advanced Nutrients connoisseur PH perfect.
4. 1000 Ws.
5. CO2 @ 1500 PPM.
6. Temp in mid 80s during the day, around 80% RH; Night= low 70s, RH around 50-70%.
7. 20-25 gallon reservoir, PPM around 1000 most of time, but at one point I did go to 1600 PPM.
8. Res temp around same as room temp. 2 air stones running all the time.
9. Used Hydroton, with 4in net cups.

I had incredible grow in veg stage. Almost too much. Massive roots. Starting from seed, I noticed when I trimmed in veg stage this was going on. I first noticed with Heavy Duty Fruity, in veg stage, brown spots on the leaves. Little brown spots and the leaves curling down. Spots were in the middle of the tissue. At some point in flowering, all plants were affected. NO INDICATION OF ANY PESTS. I determined it was a calcium deficiency. But I also thought that possibly the plants were using more nutrients, so I went from 1 ml / liter, to 1.5 ml/ L which was around 1600 PPM. Well at this point I definitely burned them with the Nuts. I also at this point started adding Cal Mag at recommend dose. This occurred around week 3. They showed signs of recovery, but were badly damaged by the nuts. The flowers grew Huge and really fattened up. But some stems couldn't support the weight because of being hollow I assume. From what I have sampled, the BD does not have as much flavor as I would expect or want. They also do not have the strong smell I would expect for the size of some of the buds.

I didn't find much discussion on this. Any help is greatly appreciated as I need to fix this for text time.

erm that how the plant takes up its nutes and water

My djs Flo has really hollow stems. It's strain dependent. That's the only one like that out of 8 strains in my garden.

Stems/stalks go hollow towards the end of the plants life cycle (if I remember reading right).

Hollow stems are perfectly normal. In fact, DJ Short says hollow stems are an indicator of a desirable plant. My own findings have confirmed this theory.

take no notice , outdoors the stems are full due to the action of the wind , indoors there hollow as they have an easier time , as for a desirable trait ? ummmmm

No that's not how it works. My Flo stems are still hollow outside aswell. Out of my 8 strains that's the only one with it indoors or out it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Yes it is how it works, the outdoor ones will be hollow but not as hollow as indoor, the stems thicken in the elements. I'm talking plants in the bush not some pussy thing in the backyard.
