holy shit my soil

i started off back in march from seedlings, young and eager to grow my own stuff.
not knowing anything, i germinated around 20 seeds into jiffy pellets.
at that time, i had no proper light, and the seedlings were put under a desk light, and they stretched crazy.
i had no space so more than half of them had to go.
in mid may, i bought a 250 watt hps, pots and some sort of compost mixture that was supposed to be mixed into soil.
but being the dumb newb i am, i thought it would be more nutricious for the girls so i transplanted 6 of the healthiest.
now its mid june and the tallest is only like 10 inches, most of the plants light neon green in color and lower leaves are yellow(all the bottom leaves have dried and fallen off).
no i realize how important these factors are for growing herbs. i thought light was the only thing that mattered, but guess i had to learn things the hard way=(
im wondering if it is too late to change the soil?
last time i tried transplanting, i ripped some of the roots, and that plant seems to be retarded=(
should i make a proper soil mixture and repot? or is it too late....
any help would be very very very appreciated.

Hey man yeah it sounds to me like you have nitrogen def. Normally when the lower leaves are light green its Nitrogen Def. A picture is worth 1000 words, can you upload one?
Also its never too late, get some Fox Farm Ocean Forrest and transplant them asap!!!
And dont worry man, I had to learn the hard way myself. When I started growing I didnt moniter ph and things just got worse and worse everyday.
Good luck man

hey thanks for the advice!!
i live away from the states so its hard to get a hand on those good soils and nutes required, but i can get stuff from my local botanical garden.
i tried looking for chemical ferts which have the highest of the 3 in N levels, but i can only put hands on 5-8-6 or 3-8-7 ferts =(
is there a natural way of adding nitrogen to my babies?
i have a ph problem too..

find some seaweed extract. Most places should have some kind of supplement. Or bat guano. if you find the right kind you can use that as well.

Worst case if there not in the flowering stage just clone a few and start over with the better understanding of how to grow. Read up in the forums and you will find a few very good post on how to clone. Some from just straight water.
