Hello Fellow Growers.

Was thinking for this grow of using Vigoro Organic soil from Home Depot. How does it compare to Ocean Forest? anybody grown successfully using Vigoro Organic?

Thank you in advance.

I can not comment on if Vigoro Organic is any good or not…
I use all types of soil and then I amend…I’ve used Vigoro and Miracle Grow also…
However, I can tell you, MJ/Cannabis will grow in almost any type of soil…
You must add nutes, and amend your soil…
Blood meal/bone meal/Bio Tone/Etc…
If you are doing seedlings, mix your soil at 40%…
And perlite at 30% and vermiculite at 30%… for a light mix that will make your rooting clone or seedling pop up fast…
Good Luck

I just bought the Home Depot mix you mentioned and found myself really having to bust up the soil once out of the bag. I'm not sure that this is an indicator of a habit of clumping or not.

You'll have to add at least perlite as there is none in this garden soil. I hope it works for you as it's pretty inexpensive ($7 for 1.5 cu.ft) (I'm using it in my raised bed garden in my front yard)

the last time i bought coco in passing i mentioned to the hydro store guy i get it way cheaper on a site he happened to be the owner gave them to me for 10 bucks buy one get one free

once you go coco you wont want to use anything else if you incorporate coco with airpots its like growing on a cloud your girls will grow as fast as hydro

I use Vigoro mix, but not alone. I make my own organic soil. It's good alone for the early life of the plant as a seedling, but you will definitely have to use nutes.

I ended up going to a hydro store and spending about 5 times more Oh well. But looking back I should have tried it in one pot.

I have use all kind's of soil, like Miracle Gro, Fox Farm, Roots Organics, Happy Frog etc... But my best soil ever was that I got from out in the natural woods Bros...Look around your surrounding how the plants are growing green and healthy. Best part about it don't cost nothing but your time. "LIVING SOIL" Bros. it's the best. Then start feeding your plants compost teas. I haven't use nutrients for about 10yrs. all natural compost teas Bros... Peace & Respect bros... :peace: bongsmilie

Foxfarm is the way to go. 2014 I used vigoro in 45 gallon smart pots and plants got about 3 to 4 feet 2015 I splurged and went with foxfarm ocean forest in same 45 gallon pots and grew monsters. Spend extra money it pays for itself.

It was difficult to water. It sat on top and rolled around despite probing it all around. It's woody, like fine powdered bark. I won't use again.
