Home made grow box

ok so this is my first grow. i have 9 bag seed babies going at the moment. theyr about 4 weeks old from germ. i made a little grow box for them because i got inspired by those pc grow boxes and i now realise i wont be able to flower them in there unless theyr lowryder seeds so i do have another place i am fixing up to flower them in but for now this is what i doing =]
i have 4 x 20 watt 4,200k spectrum cfls for veg and 4 x 20 watt 2,700k spectrum cfls for flowering. i know these arnt the best lights but i want to try do this the low budget diy way.
i wired the lights myself, just got a extension cord and looped and wired it to the lights so i can jsut plug it in the wall.
i have a computer fan blowing fresh air in and a exhaust computer fan which is connected to a home made carbon filter and i have a slightly bigger fan at the top to curculate air.
im not sure what soil im useing but it says it slowly releases nutes for about 3 months. i do have grow nutes to add if they need it but i dont want to burn them so ill leave those for later (unless i need to use them now?)
ummm i dont know the ph levels yet but i orderd a ph meter on ebay and it should be here soon.
ill keep you guys updated if you want and tell me if you think im doing anything wrong, like i said this is my first grow and yeh im not gonna get everything perfect so help me out =]

my babies dont look the best atm so if anyone could tell me what they think is wrong then im all ears.

You can flower in there if reduce the number of plants and start doing some lst but anyway nice grow box!

yeah im hoping to keep at least 2 or 3 out of the lot. theres 9 there so i figured a couple of them gotta be ladies
when do you recon i could start flowering them?
i want to find out the sex asap without cloning them so i can get rid of the males and focus on the females.

oh and does anyone know if they look a little nute burned or over waterd or anything? i get scared when i see yellow leaves D:

There big enough to stick into flower now if you want it up to you, yea they do look a bit burnt but it doesnt look like there gonna die from it!

heres a couple more pics of how my plants are doing.
a few of the bottom leaves look yellow and dead but the middle leaves look nice and green, is this ment to happen?
and the new top leaves that are coming out are like twisting and growing weird.. hopefully they get better soon =\

Looks pretty good, the leaves on the bottom are a bit burned, but as stated before they're not gonna die from the damage.

Yeh, I'm doing the same thing as you, flowering very early, but some people grow from seed with 12/12 with success so why not go 18/6 for a month then flower for the rest?

should i change the lights to my flower lights for 18/6 or keep them on veg then go the flower lights when i hit 12/12?

You mention twisted growth at the top of your plant so it might be a good idea to keep them in veg till they recover from that!

sorry i havent posted more pics iv been busy but an update on them, the day after i started lst i stoped it because i thort they were to young for it but im thinking of starting within a week and then maybe start flower a week after that.
ill post pics tonight if i can find the camera =]

Thanks for checking out my set up and thread on here man, you look like you're where I was just a few weeks ago! This has been a great experience and its amazing how quickly things progress along the way! You'll notice HUGE differences each week as you get closer and closer to your own personal supply!
