Home made Nutrients ?

I read about alot of DIY Home Made nutrients, and im trying to get some feedback from people who have used them.

Coffee Grounds
Egg Shells
Cucumbers
Kiwi peels
Boiled Broccoli water

I'm trying to spend as little as possible considering how small scale this grow is.
So any tried and true home-made nutrients or plant foods are welcome here!

I have a good selection of different materials like the ones ive listed, and im ready to start diluting up my own special bottle of plant food :D

( Anything relatively good for general plant height growth is definitely what im after )

I do believe i have some molasses around my house somewhere, and i know for sure plants love that stuff!

molasses is ONLY beneficial to organic soils. it feeds the organisms in the soil only and does not actually feed the plant.

keep your light close to the top of the plant with out it burning the plant. this will help with the plant not stretching and getting lanky. use the back side of your hand as a tester. hold for a minute. if not too much heat on the hand, the light is at a good height.

I like to FIM, Supercrop, and Lollipop ALL my plants. most times im getting between 9-15 colas vs 1 main cola on every plant.

sorry I couldn't help with the nutes, I run technaflora recipe for success system and LOVE it!. check out the organic section, im sure theres a lot of home brew nutes recipes there.

Are you asking because your trying to do a 100% organic grow or are you just trying to save money on nutes by using stuff around the house?

Trying to save money. I live relatively far from most towns. ( I live in montana, up in the mountains )
And the closest town is about 30 minutes away from me :c and it doesnt even have a plant nursery, or anything remotely close to where i'd wanna go for nutes, or growing materials.

So im trying to save some money, and a long 4 hour trip to an actual commercial populated area.

I do have plans of going within the next few weeks for groceries and such, but if it'll save me some money and time, i'd like to try home-made nutes.

if you just do the 4 hr treck and go get your basic nutes, one for bloom, one for veg then they will last you A LONG TIME!!
you need to go look up what nutes your plants need and write them down and then go compaire them to the nutes.
you will most likely find veg/bloom nutes with everything you need except calcium and magnesium so get some calmag too.
but im serious, go do that and they will last you a year plus if you are only doing a couple plants.
get larger bottles but you usually only use 5ml to 1gallon which is tiny.
you need to do a lot more research budds.

Dude, Go organic!! You're in a perfect position to do so. Make compost, and unless you live on a chemical dump site, I'd recommend using native soils. If you can get a hold of a good quantity of Rabbit Poo, worm castings, your own compost will give you GREAT results

My soil is a mixture of Miracle Gro Organic Soil, And Mountain soil from where i live.
The natural nutes in my soil on my land is just BOMB, Every year my plants get enormous during the outdoor grows.

I've honestly hardly ever needed to use Store nutrients for anything, And if i did, my buddy knew exactly what to use.

I've always just been a " Clean dirt, Clean Water " kind of grower. Just basic agriculture i suppose..

I Suppose i will have to make the trek to the city for all this stuff... i mean i've came this far, and put this much time into this grow so mine aswell at least make the most out of it.
But honestly, it just doesnt really seem worth it to me. The yield from these plants will be minimal in comparison to the 2-3 ounces i get per plant during normal grow season outside.
And as for nutes, i think i'd only really need bloom, Cause once they recover from the pruning, im tossing these bad boys into flowering.
:D Trying to have them done by christmas.

Also, on a side note, Should i collect the leaves i pruned, and then re-apply them into the soil once they've dried?

If you want cheap nutes Jacks Classic is cheap I use all purpose and bloom booster. Otherwise your gonna need to compost the shit your talking about. I'm in the same situation I had to order most of my shit cause the nearest hydro store is over 2 hours away but that greenhousemegastore.com has some good prices for Jacks but you gotta buy the 4 lbs tubs which will last forever its only like $20 each and you can grow anything you want for a few years on that you can find smaller containers of jacks but that place is the best value I found.

or you can start shoveling shit from local farmers and get some nice compost but it takes time unless you know a rabbit farmer I read into shit, lol and they said you can use it fresh uncomposted and it won't burn plants and its about the most potent shit I looked into except maybe bat shit.

Yes, by all means compost the trim! Also, if you just HAVE to use store bought nutes www.espoma.com is your one stop shop! Espoma is available pretty much everywhere.
If your out door soil is as you say, WHY this post? cannabis is just another plant. If everything else does well in your native soil, pot will THRIVE! There is NO magic bullet or additive needed by cannabis for added yield or potency, just the right conditions and nutrients that any other plant would need.

Hmm. I've never gone the homemade route, but I think it's certainly something to consider when you're doing a small grow. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I'll definitately have to give them a go next time.

:D Why this post? CAUSE! :D I want my plants happy, well fed, and healthy!, and i believe giving them a bit more natural nutes will just boost their growth that much more.

Currently, im gonna use ground eggshells, mix it with coffee grounds, let it sit in a gallon jug of water for a week or two, then mix it with my normal water every other feeding.

( Also, dont quote me on this, but i think the chunks of garlic in my soil to prevent those gnats i have, is actually helping them grow. Cause once i put those in the soil, they shot up about an inch over night )

I admire the spirit here! Your girls are only gonna take up what they need, so no need to super saturate the soil :weed:, but hey if it gives you a warm fuzzy, go for it. Personally, I'd mix the eggshells and grounds in the soil (sparingly), and if you can get some alfalfa, make an aerobic tea with that. Alfalfa is a good source of N and K, trace minerals, and contains triacontinol (a natural plant growth stimulant). Water them with THAT every so often. I foliar feed it during veg. Great shit!!

( My soil is organic..... ) Organic Miracle grow brand, and ORganic soil from the mountains. Or did you not read that part?.

Jack, thanks for the help man, i really appreciate it. You seem to know whats best as far as natural organic nutes, which is definitely gonna help me out in the long run.

It tends to gum shit up in hydroponics for sure.

Any organic matter has an N-P-K value that is beneficial to the plant itself. It's actually pretty high in K. The carbs feed the micro-colony, but it DOES have value to the plants.

:D Yea man, I just like the whole concept of Organic growing, lol. I mean, cannabis use to only be organically grown, and it was good enough for old timers back then, so It's good enough for me now.

Hopefully next year i can make my own compost for my outdoor grow, Montana is a prime place to get free stuff like manure, rabbit poo, deer poo, etc etc. Lots of wild life, and people with farms.

( Actually come to think of it, my uncle owns some horses about an hour away, i bet i can get some horse dung for my start-up compost pile next year )
