People like to think of Hawaii as paradise, and for the most part, it is. But for some, the cost of living is just too great. People have no other choice but to live on the streets. This has been going on for years. Certain areas/parks/beaches are known for homeless.
Recently, however, the city and county/ state have been cracking down on homeless and forcing them out of these areas. So the homeless just keep moving down the coast. Maybe a month or so, the process will repeat. They will get kicked out and move down to the next beach. Keep in mind, there are some homeless shelters but some of the homeless refuse to go because of rules (no drugs, alcohol, etc.) I think that others just enjoy life on the beach without having to pay $millions for beach front property ( who wouldn't )The sad part is that many of the homeless are families with young children.
And what's funny is that there have been cases where other states have shipped their homeless out to Hawaii.
So what should be done? Keep kicking them out until they have nowhere to go? Leave them be? Jail? Ship them back to the continental us?
