Homemade fixure Idea

Whats CFLers. I was at Homedepot doing a little tiptoeing and came across thus little action i put together. I was there just to grab a few lights then i said i might as well grab a few other things and decided to make another fixture addition.

Looks good guy but I hope their only that far above plants for the pic

And just a lil friendly advice from my experiences is that side lighting is paramount to get dense buds! In my cab I've got 16 cfl and all but 6 r on the sides of the plant and she loves it but anyways good luck to ya buddy

I actually set them that way but im going to lower them when they wake up. Yesterday were their first day of flowering transition. Thanks for the advice though.

Well I had to modify my setup a bit as my plant has bushed out way more than anticipated and now side lighting is not an option lol
So after watchin this girl grow with all lights above canopy I'm convinced that as long as u have enuf wattage with cfl an keep within 1"-2" above canopy top lighting with cfls is quite impressive this is how I've got it now and will be leavin it til completion but would still love to be able to put lights on sides haha
I'll throw in a better pic of my girl for ya there too just look over burnt tips couldn't check on her for a whole day and she grew way into bulbs even got 2 of my bud tops bout fucked shit up for real!

Closing in on start of 4th week flower vegged for 3 1/2 weeks this is a clone that was took off a mother that was 4 1/2 wks into flower third try with monster cropping and I love it grow bushes without trying new branches everyday very good growth and multiple colas can't beat it IMO

Just added some side lighting. What you think?

for sure. I tell you those 125w CFLs is huge. bigger than they look on the pictures on Amazon. And the 85watters are like pineapples.

from what ive read its always better to run the 23watters. Thats what im doing. smaller bulb can fit more and get more lumen footprint.

I'll share my homemade fixture ideas......

1 roll of 3" aluminum tape...$7(Wal-Mart)
1 10"x10' roll galvanized steel roof flashing...$12
1 4x8 1/2" piece of plywood...$8(Lowe's)
12 e26 sockets...$3ea/$36(Lowe's)
2 6in fans...$8ea/$16(walmart)
2 6" to 4" reducers...$6ea/$12
2 pair of ratchet hangers...$8ea/$16(amazon)
2 6ft 1725w household extension cords...$2ea/$4(wally)
48 #4 brass screws and 48 eye terminals(connectors) to connect the wires to the sockets....about $4(Ace Hardware)
Speaker wire I already had but it's about $20 a roll



It's just a 16x22 piece of 1/2in. plywood with holes cut to fit my e26 sockets and a 6in hole for a $8 fan from Wal-Mart.I used a roll of aluminum tape to attach the sides cut from a roll of 10inx10ft galvanized roof flashing

The sockets are prewired but I removed those wires and used some 14gauge speaker wire.I'm not an electrician but I know how to follow a positive and negative wire.I then attached a 6"to4" reducer for ducting.The plug is a regular $2 extension cord,cut and attached with screws to the first socket.To do this i removed all the positive wires and screwed in one side at a time,ensuring no crossing of wires.»»BIG TIP««.......BE SAFE!!!!...WHEN USING AN EXTENSION CORD THE RIBBED WIRE IS NEGATIVE(white striped wire),THE SMOOTH WIRE IS POSITIVE(black wire)OR ON THE PLUG THE SMALL BLADE IS POSITIVE,BIG BLADE IS THE NEGATIVE

Then I screwed in the fan,added some splitters for a total of 12 bulbs.I have a piece of plexiglass cut to fit to enclose the bulbs,which is great for heat and I don't have to worry about leaf burn
They are really nice I could have went with a thicker metal for the sides but this is a compromise between weight and function(its good enough).
I'm really hoping that you guys can see what i've done cause I know i'm not good at step by step detailed instructions....besides it's just too much for me to type out...took too fucking long to do this one!
