Homemade pesticides.. Nicotine+?

Early on I used a mixture of Tabasco sauce, peppers and other hot things as bug repellent. It worked ok, but not well enough so I used a spray of seven dust a couple weeks ago. Now that flowering is starting I want to go back to organic pesticides. The medical grow book I have suggests soaking tobacco to get the nicotine in the water(a dangerous poison to humans and pests) and also mixing it with other hot stuff to kill and repulse the insects. My question, With spraying nicotine on the leaves will that make any hash i produce from the leaves deadly because of left over nicotine, or will it mostly wash off? keep in mind the nicotine will be highly concentrated.

Nicotine is extremely toxic. I have no idea how rapidly it breaks down in nature. Sure, it could wash off/dissipate given enough time but outdoors it could harm other living things including birds and small mammals.
It isn't necessary in the majority of scenarios. What bugs specifically are you trying to deter?

There are more appropriate measures, especially considering this is during flowering. Pyrethrum is botanically derived, kills on contact and breaks down rapidly so you could use it even a week or less before harvest (so long as it isn't petroleum based).

yeah probably so but I was in the garden area at wally world yesterday and saw a spray which said rids bugs on garden and can use until day before harvest, seeing as I don't have a prob with unwanted visitors I didn't look at the fine print, but it could be a direction for you. GOOD luck or just spray one leaf infested and see what happens so I don't have to.lol I was also thinking that if the persons leaves had black spots on them maybe thier mixture was not mixed well or applied finely enough/correctly, ya know, huge drops of soapy oil on leaves, probably not what was meant, but yeah good luck...http://store.earthbox.com/Plant-Treatments-Repellents/products/23/ ....kinda like this
