Hoods

ive slways used air cooled hoods. Is there any advantage in using an umbrella or gull wing hood instead?

hi, im pretty much in the same boat as you, but have been looking around for different ideas, and from what i can gather other then perhaps light spread i dont think theres much difference, i suppose its down to the quality of the reflector, one situation i am thinking of is i have a spare space that is 7ft by 3ft and i believe paraolics in there will allow the light to bounce of the walls better promoting more side growth, thats only in principle though, now theres theese lights http://www.chrissiesgarden.co.uk/lumatek-adjust-a-lite-air-cooled-reflector-2247-p.asp
i think they give the best from both worlds directional and air cooled, summertime you can cool, winter take glass out and also directional, im sure theres loads of technical stuff that proves ones better then the other but i think its purely down to your growspaces needs
