Hookah Weed?

Hey yo

Epic question here...
I assume that lots of you here have heard of Hookah's? (Shisha, Nargile ect.)
Well for those who don't they are pretty much a water pipe used for smoking flavored tobacco. The tobacco is cured with Molasses with flavor of choice, eg. blueberry apple cherry and such.

Well i was wondering can you do this with weed? Cure weed in Molasses with flavor so that it can be smoked in a Hookah without tobacco?

And if you know how to do this what type of flavoring and molasses do you use?

Dont think you wanna do this..grow your weed and cure it properly
and it will have an array of mouth watering flavors you cant possibly
want to switch for something else. :-P

i know exactly what you're talking about man, i love the idea! the "romman" tobacco i buy is cured in honey. it smells SOOO good. im not sure exactly what else they put in it, but ill go buy another pack tomorrow and see. im sure you could just grind up weed, add honey and whatever else there is in there and it would give a clean smooth smoke from a hookah. good idea! im gonna check it out.

Yea i have never heard of honey with tobacco. But hey sounds good

I think if u get some artificial flavoring and add that to the Honey you will come out with one sweet ass mix!

See i was just reading a thread about Water curing, and apparently it gives the weed less taste (dont know if this is good or bad) but for the sake of this experiment thats probably a good thing, it will allow for more artificial taste.

Sorry for those who love the taste of weed, i just wanna see if this works

curing in honey or molasses wont have the same affect as water curing. Water curing works by leaching out the toxins and nutes from the bud, while honey curing simply masks the bad flavors and toxins.

Sorry, were not talking about curing in honey. I'm talkin about having already cured weed (water cure preferably) THEN setting it up to be smoked in a Hookah instead of Tobacco.

So when all the toxins and crap are gone, then we add the flavoring and honey.

ah alright my bad i thought you meant thought they cured in the same way. I think the way you want to do it will work fine. On a side note, does anyone know of any side-effects of smoking honey or molasses?

WELL!
There are apparently "serious health risks" for smoking a Hookah, BUT these are not from the molasses or honey, they just give flavor, the real health problems are in the chemicals released by the coals eg carbon monoxide

But trying to smoke honey or molasses (like in a joint) is just a bad idea it tastes like shit.

a friend cures his pot with spirits like bourbon,,,,1st he dries them almost totality then he takes them and puts them in the bottle of whatever and leaves them for a day or so then he takes it out drys it again and continues curing....very interesting smoke,,,prob gr8 for your purposes :blsmoke:

You could always get a glass bowl (For herb) designed to fit on top of a hookah, wouldn't have the molasses though.

Go to a local head shop you should be able to find one. :mrgreen:

Edit: As far as flavor.... Tasty puff mixed with maybe? Or maybe a concentrated fruit extract mixed with honey?

wouldnt smoking all that sugar make the smoke harsh??
mite taste sweet..prolly would work well with water cured bud..but i wouldnt ruin dried cured bud i love the taste

Yeah I wouldn't use it personally, I used it like once when I was a teenager lol, after that never again. It was just a suggestion for flavoring, to each is their own you know? I personally like the hookah bowl with just the natural taste of herb.

The method in which the tobacco is burned in a hookah would not work with cannabis... At least not in regards to taking a hit 5 minutes after the weed is put onto the hookah. You probably wouldn't get high.

Yeah with a normal hookah bowl yes more than likely you wouldn't get high. However they do make Glass bowls, the kind you would find on a bong. The only difference is instead of a stem the bottom is blown to match up with a Hookah. This glass bowl you do not need charcoal discs or anything, you just light it like you would a normal bong toke.

These are the best examples I could find, as my camera is dead at the moment. I need more batteries ={.

My bowl looks different than these two, when I get more batteries for my camera I will take a picture of it :mrgreen:

Edit: Yeah I wouldn't let it sit for 5 minutes though.... You gotta rip it good or have a nice circle of friends for a continuous rotation or else it gets stale and gross or just dissipates into nothing really.

Don't mean to be fronting on an Elite here but....first time i got high was through a hookah, my mate just whacked a bunch of bud up top and we hit it like normal. Trust me it works well.

But what i want is not to put the weed with the tobacco but rather to have the weed with the molasses so that its all weed and molasses, no tobacco. that means Maximum high.

But yea, more ideas would be good, i think Honey sounds the best atm.

I bought a modded bowl with a wind guard. It has a bowl, and a metal screen plate that goes over the herb, then the coals sit on that and are covered by the wind guard.

What would i need to do to the weed to make it possible to get high in a hookah?

just a lil note from experience the resin after a bit will clog your hoses and the joint you put them in on the side of the hookah.
