horn & hoof meal slow release organic fertilizer question

I have 3 plants growing atm in a very small space, they have been out of the ground now for 4 days and they look healthy so far! Will only keep 2 tho as the space is too small for 3. They are growing under 1 65watt 6400k cfl and another 20watt cfl on 24/0 light.

My question is the I have hoof & horn meal slow release fertilizer here and I'm wondering if it will be good to use it ons the plants? Propably not now(unless it will help?) I was thinking after they were about 2-3 weeks old? Not sure if it will be fine for the plants?

I also have "seagro organic plant food" containing ALL the macro and micro elements a marijuana plant needs, it is diluted by adding 5ml to every litre of water. Can I use both together or should I use only one and which one?

I'm from south africa so I cannot get all the soils and fertilizers you guys reccomend so it sucks!

I attached some photos of the plants, the hoof&horn meal and seagrow fertilizer.

don't have specific knowledge of the hoof/horn meal, i do use bone meal that is a very good nutrient(6-9-0 for MG Organic)
i'd think the hoof/horn would have slow nitrogen, sounds like a good addition to the soil

Ja I would think it would be good to use? Its basicly these little chunks so what do I do, do I sprinkle a little over the top of the soil? And then give a little water?

should help, probably would be better mixed into the soil, but that's not possible now
good part is it's unlikely to burn anything, the so so part will be the slow release, something else will probably be needed(for nitrogen)

Unfortunatly too late now yes..:eyesmoke:
But I will add it to the top after the plants actually start growing nicely, a week or so should do it! I can add some of the liquid fertilizer for N, just about 1/4 then 1/2.
How tall should my plants be by now? They are 5 days old and about 2-3 cm starting to grow 2nd set of leaves after cotyledon leaves.

New photos-modified the box by adding a door, painted it white inside and fitted exhaust fan at the back
This is my first actual grow so any advice is good advice - thanks!

they look OK for this stage, multiple plants in 1 pot usually is a problem, they will compete and 1 will win
you can add the hoof/horn meal now, it's going to break down very slowly, getting it started would be better i think
wait for a few more days before using the other fertilizer, young plants burn easy, the 1/4 strength is a good idea but wait 5-7 days or so

The horn & hoof is just basiclly blood/bone meal, which is a soil additive. its NPK is 12-2-0. So I would say skip using it this run, and next run work it into your soil with some pot ash and orgainic phosphorus, and then just water during the grow. This time use the liquid as directed, but wait until the 3rd set of leaves before adding food.

didn't know this, that could be a bit hot, depends on how fast it releases, blood meal is known for very quick release, and has burning potential

Oky yes I'm going to remove 1 of the other plants then so 2 would be better? I'm scared if I only keep 1 and it turns out to be a male all this was for nothing..oky I'll use that the next round, but will ad the liquid fertilizer when they are old enough with every 2nd watering or so.
After painting it white and being able to actually get to the plants via the door I could set the lights better (about 5-7cm) above the plants and this morning they looked big! Got the next set of leaves, they look healthy!

My only problem now is the soil is drying out becose it gets hot in there due to limited space so I have a fan that has to blow In there 24/7, not directly on the plants but on the lights, so I have to water often and the soil I'm using is not the best draining soil..is there anything I can actually do?

i suppose it's possible to wait for a female to appear, then remove the others, if that was your plan it could work out

Yes will wait then, because that's only a 1galon tub so the roots are already coming out the botom at 5 days old, so at 30 days old its going to be more roots than soil!

roots take over fast, 1 gallon could work, the rule of thumb is 1 gallon of soil for every foot of plant
one danger is that males usually grow faster than females, so the male(s) may take over

Ja that's the thing I'm scared of loosing precious females! But I will just keep an eye and when they reach flowering time I will get a magnifier and have a look as often as possible to spot the males as early as possible, thanks!!

Use the other stuff. H&H is good stuff, but like bone meal. So slow to release if it's not added to the mix well in advance, it's pretty useless. As a top dress, the grow will be over before it becomes available.

Oky cool will add H&H to next batch about 2 weeks before planting and then water it nice and then just let it stand there untill I plant

I noticed that the leaves of the plants, the 2nd pair of leaves are purple on the inside and fades away to the top, only a littlebit but for such very small leaves its a lot..its not like some kind of purple haze or anything, just some outdoor seeds I'm growing indoors, never noticed this on my indoor plants growing off sunlight? Its hars to see but you will see more or less what I mean.
