Secrets for keeping your res cool?? Its getting way too warm way too quick. Been dropping frozen water (Bottled / contained ) still isn't cold for long. Ideas?

wrap it in a blanket. It sounds odd but it helps insulate and contain any coolness you add.

then when all else fails buy an aquarium chiller.

i recommended a coiled chiller..like a home made beer keg cooler....might be some work but should give you results

Will have to look into it. Not sure if they are costly. Thanks for the input.

I also have them wrapped in pillow cases, helps, but nothing mind blowing.

You can make on efrom a cooler..some copper tubing coiled up ..then fill the cooler with ice...use a pump to circulate the water in the tube in a cycle

i've seen a thread on here where someone took apart a mini fridge and used the coolant part of the fridge to keep their res cool.. looked like it worked pretty killer.. it would take a lil work on your end, but not all that much if your somewhat handy...
you could also just purchase a chiller made for this purpose, but a nice sized one runs about five bills or better, where you could probably pick up a used mini fridge for fairly cheap, and diy one for way less money..

thats what we did for a kegger one time....you can buy a mini fridge off craigs list or classifieds....prolly cheaper to do it with a cooler...downside is refilling it with ice..but work son the same principle
