when peppers start to flower at every bud site it branches off in 2 directions and will get busie
Thank you. So I got a few flowers now atleast a dozen are open though very small. I don't know how big they get or what but I do plan on picking up a soft haired paint brush and trying to pollinate them today. Ill try to get some good pics of these tiny flowers so we know what were working with here. Don't be afraid to send some advice my way cause I am diving into the unknown hereno kidding about HPS and a decent pic LOL
looking amazing my man
They sell refillable paint sprayers with a glass reservoir that would probably work. Home depot has em.naga jolokia? never heard of it. i thought the ghost chilli was the hottest? also it is easy to make pepper spray with a couple hot peppers, the hard part is getting your extracts put into an aerosol propellant. if you find out how to , let me know .
haha, thats a great idea! its too bad you wont get to see a reaction. this is day 86 and 2 of my 4 left living in hydro are flowering like crazy they probably have about 25-30 flowers and more to open. what i have been doing to polinate them is, taking a small art paintbrush dipping it in luke warm water and fondel the center of the little flowers. they are bettween 1/4" to 1/2" in diameter and are yellow in color. i have 3 left living in soil but they are severly stunted, i will plant them in the garden this summer and hope for the best. i also tried cloning 2 branches, one of my plants is rather branchy with little leaves so im gonna use it as a mother to get a few more going. cloned them the Al B method in rockwool, used some powdered rooting hormone, and stuck them in a clear rubber maid toteI should be getting my seeds in the mail any day! Can't wait to grow these things and plant a few in the grocery store!
i hear they need to be stressed to produce a hotter pepper. if your in soil they need hot temps and occasionally run dry. Those are probably gonna be awesome. I have a Jalapeno pepper in my grow room. It's probably 1 year old and it has several peppers on it right now. For some reason the peppers are not as hot as when grown outdoor - these are very like sweet peppers. I harvest a lot of peppes on it though
well i took the advice from another grower on some hot chille comunity site. dont remember where. but i will try this method too, can't really go wrong.insoim if they are anything like tomatoes the pollen doesn't like water its best to just tap on the branch to get the pollen air born and it does its own thing after
where did you get your seeds? all 12 popped for me, but you gotta keep them warm while they germinate, took 10 days for me at 85 degrees or so. i hear it can take up to a month. are you doing soil or hydro?I got my seeds yesterday and started to germinate them today. We will see how long and out of 10 how many will pop.
I never did anything but put a seed from a Jalapeno pepper into rockwool and put the plant into the flowering room on 12/12. The plant is very lush and lots of chilis. Maybe i'll try and stress it if anybody can confirm this is necessary to make chilis hot? I don't do anything to pollinate - maybe the fan does it.i hear they need to be stressed to produce a hotter pepper. if your in soil they need hot temps and occasionally run dry.
what do you do to pollinate the flowers?
yeah ive seen the you tube, in fact its posted in this thread somewhere. he crossed a naga viper and a bhut jalokia or something like thatinso ..there is a guy in scotland that broke the record with the hottest pepper his were grown inside
i need to clean up the grow room and move thigns around so i can put a fan on them. its a bit packed in there with getting stuff ready for the garden. plus i just harvested 2x g13haze and 4x northern lights, and i got 2 of each way overdue for 12/12 - round 2. so my little 8x10 room is jam packed now. kinda poorly organized, bleh summer time will be a good time to re-organize while the girls are growin outsideI never did anything but put a seed from a Jalapeno pepper into rockwool and put the plant into the flowering room on 12/12.
