How are we looking so far?

IMG_8839.jpegIMG_8838.jpegIMG_8837.jpegIve had a rough time with this strain regarding EC, but I seem to have dialed it in somewhat recently which is nice in time for the switch to flower, but from how she looks so far, id love tips on how i should proceed with her. Shes in a 3x3 pushing almost corner to corner in there. I’ve got her EC at about 1.8-2.0, the tap water comes out at about .65 and they seem to love the stuff coming out of there, about 1.15-1.35 EC of that 2.0 is my nutrient mix. It seems high but anytime I would try and lower anywhere below 1.0 EC of the nutrient solution, so 1.65 in total, she’d freak out on me. I run her PH at around 5.5 let it drift up to 6.3 then buffer it back to 5.5 and then for her lights ive got a 420 watt led fixture at about 14 inches from the canopy with the ppfd running about 590-680 and a DLI of about 28-30. Any tips/helpful comments are more than welcome!

Lovely plant, very nice. I think 1.8 is a good ec, your ph control sounds fine too. you will do fine. Keep an eye on temp and humidity too (only saying that as you didn’t mention them) and maybe get some support there now ready for when the branches get heavy.

Thank you! I keep my temps around 75-78 with the lights on and 69-72 with the lights off, humidity i usually keep at around 60-67% for veg so a VPD of around .9-1.1, but i upped my PPFD recently for stretch and ive heard that when you do you wanna lower humidity because when its too high relative to the ppfd it limits the amount of co2 the stomata's can uptake? would love your opinion on that, but as it stands i lowered my humidity to around 55-58% so my vpd is around 1.2-1.4 for the raised ppfd.

Oh thought this was dtw at first then saw the bucket. So different animal but looks great maybe pluck some leaves in the inner center for airflow. I see good fans and placement of them looks all great! Yea I literally have the same ec tap almost .5 ec and feed 1.7 people give me shit for it.

The same thing happens to me though if I lower it any bit or go too high just need be a solid 1.7. Whats awesome is my tap and that ec makes a perfect ph no adjusting needed but this is dwc or whatever its called. So probably not gonna work the same.

I use DWC - Yeah, My tap water is good quality, pretty much neutral PH and EC 0.1.. so I don't need to adjust PH directly unless something goes wrong...

...if all is in order, adding feed lowers PH and increases EC, so by they time mine need more feed, (low EC), the PH will also have risen so the added feed will lower the PH pretty much to target at the same time.

My water is very 'soft' so I buy soft water nutes (added cal-mag I think is the main difference between that the 'hard water' variety of feed I use).

The pellets usually trick the eye, once you see the 5 gal tho like you said it gives it away lol. And nice to know i'm not alone with the crappy tap supply lmao, but they seem to just either buffer it out or love the stuff because ive never noticed any issues. I was planning on a light pruning later today when i get home, so I’ll send pics of her after her little haircut! PH is not to hard of an issue because what i feed her ends up balancing it out to that 5.5-5.6 everytime so im lucky there lol. Then i just gotta adjust it every 3-4 days from there!

AC infinity has 16" full spectrum led light bars that would work perfect. Theyre magnetic too, so perfect for a tent
Thanks for the positive comments and the recommendations, I’ll definitely be looking into those light bars so i can worry a little less about supplementing the light to under the canopy from the top!

I was thinking the same, but what would you recommend to hold up the branches thats not a trellis? they make bucket top offs/changes and checking PH and EC such a pain in the ass:(.

You could just have a floating pvc trellis that just sits on the plant, the branches all support each other that way.

Nice grow. A net would settle things down a little in there but hey this looks like fun. Definitely gonna be a big girl.

I see a lot of strings. Nice work spreading this out. Ya got a nice canopy formed. Now let's see if ya can control it..lol

I'd be looking for some sort of way to support buds. Your gonna have a lot of them. Not a bad problem to have aye?

Thank you! And yeah things got a little out of hand in the best way possible lol, her canopy stays relatively even and keeps good light penetration when i give her light prunings here and there. Atp I'm just waiting for her to settle in from her stretch and start focusing on her buds rather than putting out new leaves so i can separate her shoots and support em for good!

Do you take EC/pH reading before topping off the reservoir? EC will probably be borderline high with that high EC input and the small size of the reservoir?

14 inches from the canopy seem way to close in my book. Leaves having a matt look while being fed that EC gives me the indications of using excess light for the stage of growth.

I would try to dial down light intensity until you're able to feed properly for the stage of growth. Don't focus on hitting DLI numbers and that shenanigans, focus on the plant response and what the plant tells you to do and forget everything else starting out.

Cheers!

This was her with anything lower than 1.0, Not saying your input is invalid but my plant does not seem to like anything lower than what im giving her, It felt wrong at first feeding that much but she showed me that she needed it. And light wise you may be right, ill play around with it but shes not burning or showing any tell tale signs of light stress that ive seen in some of my other plants, She looks alot better than before so i guess im trying to say why fix it if it aint broken lol. And surprisingly when i top off and measure her EC it lowers and her ph rises as time goes by, so things in the root zone seem to be alright.

Good luck!

to each their own, I dont exceed 250 ppfd for early veg then 450 for veg and early flower 550 then i up it week by week till i reach no more than 700 for the rest of flower, sure i need to move my light up an inch or two to account for the stretch that happend in the last day or two but overall my parameters work pretty well for me.

This a timeline of what made me go from .8ec to 1.7ec. It was pale looking and dying out in leafs. It then got darker realizing if you feed 8x a day when it doesnt dry back for it.. It got much darker but its not doing that as bad with less frequency at 4x a day. Now with big fans it drys back enough for 8x a day again so now its fine.

Being in water Id think its similar and why people go lower ec in dwc if I paid attention to their ec I dont recall I usually avoid dwc threads its tough method to me. I cant even keep a tub of water with out plants in it that rot imagine with plants.
