How bad is incandescent light during 12/12 dark period?

How bad is just a touch of light seeping under the crack of the door to your grow room from either standard incandescent bulbs or those long fluorescent tubes? What if that very small amount of light is also blocked from direct path to the plants? Also, what about light that may occasionally filter through the curtains such as car lights or a bit of street lamp light? I would imagine moonlight through the window could not be bad because that's mother nature.

It should be fine...the moon can be pretty bright at times so some indirect scattering of light particles shouldn't do anything harmful

So a little seepage light from regular bulbs and maybe even non-compact fluorescents being in the room for extended periods of time shouldn't be enough to cause herms? The room doesn't have to be 100% pitch black as long as the plant is basically remains in the dark?

Any more opinions on this? Just looking for a little more verification.

I don't think you should have any lights on in the room but seepage under the door is ok.

Yeah, I will never have actual lights on in the room, but I was just concerned about the affects of how seeped light might be picked up by plants even though the room looks basically dark. Is the light from incandescent bulbs even picked up by marijuana plants and enough to affect them?

Personally, I believe too much is made of light leaks. While I'm certain that there are cases during the flowering stage that the photoperiod can be disrupted resulting in delays in flowering, hermaphroditic growth etc. I also think this is the exception vs. the rule. Autoflower strains appear to be quite independent of photoperiod fluctuations and grow happily regardless of the light conditions. The evidence may be purely anectdotal but, I've done several indoor grows in a fairly large closet with louvered bi-fold doors. Out of 63 plants grown, I've only had 3 plants to show any hermaphroditic traits and these could have easily been attributed to other stress factors and/or genetics. At any rate, the closet is in a pretty dark room overall but will all the louvers in the doors any available light is almost sure to be getting in the closet. The grows have been done with a very wide range of genetics as well;

if you need light try a green light. thats what i use when my plant is in flower. i havnt had any probs.other than that as a rule. i would not turn on any light in that room incandescent or not. but that said ,i have a small light leak under the door and has had no advers effects on 4 harvests.
