I need a little help. I'm going to buy 2 x 400 W Philips Agro HPS (from http://pflanzburg.de/store/product_info.php?products_id=28 - it's in German, so I used google translate ;) ) they each put out 55k lumen. But I don't know how big an area they can cover.
I've been thinking of buying a light mover because I've heard that should increase the yield and make it possible to cover a bigger area.

I've heard that the plants need about 5.400 lux (500 lumen per square foot) in seedling stage. about 27.000 lux (2.500 lumen per square foot) in vegetative growth and 108.000 lux (10.000 lumen per square foot) in flowering.
But I've also heard that the plants only need 25.000-30.000 lux (2.300-2.800 lumen per square foot) in all of the stages.

The room I'm going to use is 2.9 meter x 2.2 meter (9.5 feet x 7.4 feet), but I can cut an area off so it fits better to growing.
I've purchased 20 feminized Raspberry Cough seeds.

Can anyone help me out? thanks :D

Okay, so 2 square meters (21.5 square feet). Is it correct that I can plant 1 plant per square feet?
And is 2 square meters a big enough area to use a light mover?

I like 4x4 for a 1000w but I have one room set up with two 400w with 12 plants and it does great, with a light mover you will gain but.....less light will effect your grow, the thing with light movers is it saves on buying more lights, but there is a short time where the sides dont have direct light constant so its just one of those things you will have to live with. Less lights is smaller flowers. One per foot works for me....sea of green.......

I was just thinking that it would be better for the plants if they got equal light? But I might be wrong, it is only 21 square feet though (the area two 400 w HPS can cover)

I run dual 400's in a 6.5'x4.5' space. Seems to be about perfect for me.

What kind of 400w are you using? I assume it as HPS, but which brand and what are the exact name? :)
And are you using a light mover?

I use a 400MH and a 400HPS together. I cant remember what the MH brand is but the HPS is a SunSystem.
And no, no light mover. I dont really need or have the room for one.
