My plants are just coasting along the way they are supposed to.

This first picture is the MJ garden. 1 Chocolope, 1 Critical Mass, and 3 Diet Durbin THCV:THC.

This year I'm growing some hemp to try to get back some of the CBD and other good stuff that the "breaders" have taken out. The cage is 7 feet high and 12 feet wide. This picture is a good example of variation in soil. When I filled it in I used soil from where the old compost bin was. About a foot and a half on the right end to just a couple of inches on the left. The last two years it looked exactly the same.

It’s best to start counting when you have actual clusters. I’m estimating your two weeks from that, then 9 more weeks, so approximately 11 weeks from here which will be somewhere towards the end of October.
With the rain and frost hitting normally in mid October, should I be thinking of trying to tent them and set up fans under?

That sucks, yours seem to be so well supported too. We have them coming tonight and tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed.
The plants are tied up with that green plastic plant tie tape. I've never had it break before but the wind was 80 mph. A few miles south in Owasso they reached 90 mph. Son-in-law said he saw one house down flat and a bunch of trees uprooted.

Next year I'm doing the concrete support cages as well. Also, I need to space my plants further apart. I didn't expect them to get so big. They pushed up against each other. I put fans on the posts to keep air moving between the plants. Growing trees is fun, but you have to prepare for it.

Already had that plant tape break once this year on that big plant, but at least no damage. There is also 5 ft tall x 3 foot diameter concrete remesh cages wired to T posts around every plant.
I need to go to a better way to support them next year. When I set my garden up a few years back I didn't know plants got this big. My round garden is 20 feet diameter and there are 6 plants are on a 6 foot center. Way to close. Next year only 4 plants in the round garden.

The long garden has 5 plants also on 6 foot centers. I'm going to take down the wire and only plant 4 in there. The plan was to tie the plants to the wire. I should of left the tee posts in but there was no room to work.

Maybe I'll pass on planting next year. I'll turn 84 years old at harvest this year and I still have a pantry full and half a freezer full. Growing it is just a thing.
