Couple of weeks once the warm comes and they'll explodeLucky! I feel mine are slacking behind but this has been the gloomiest months around this time in the last few years. Nonetheless, they're slowly but surely keeping on..
I know the leaves are dusty . Lots of wind here lately in the evenings
With the rain and frost hitting normally in mid October, should I be thinking of trying to tent them and set up fans under? It’s best to start counting when you have actual clusters. I’m estimating your two weeks from that, then 9 more weeks, so approximately 11 weeks from here which will be somewhere towards the end of October.
That sucks, yours seem to be so well supported too. We have them coming tonight and tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed.Well, I'm glad I took pictures yesterday. BIG storm last night. At least 2 of my plants are pretty well destroyed.
I'm sorry to hear that. I would be crushed. Where are you located where these nasty storms are coming in?Well, I'm glad I took pictures yesterday. BIG storm last night. At least 2 of my plants are pretty well destroyed.
Never mind. I see you're in Oklahoma.I'm sorry to hear that. I would be crushed. Where are you located where these nasty storms are coming in?

For damn sure! Just when I start to think my garden is rockin the free world, someone like Mandocat puts my ego back in check. LOLThat last ones a friggen monsta!!!
The plants are tied up with that green plastic plant tie tape. I've never had it break before but the wind was 80 mph. A few miles south in Owasso they reached 90 mph. Son-in-law said he saw one house down flat and a bunch of trees uprooted. That sucks, yours seem to be so well supported too. We have them coming tonight and tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed.
That thing is pretty much of a monster. It won't take many of those to fill your pantry. For damn sure! Just when I start to think my garden is rockin the free world, someone like Mandocat puts my ego back in check. LOL
Already had that plant tape break once this year on that big plant, but at least no damage. There is also 5 ft tall x 3 foot diameter concrete remesh cages wired to T posts around every plant. That thing is pretty much of a monster. It won't take many of those to fill your pantry.
I need to go to a better way to support them next year. When I set my garden up a few years back I didn't know plants got this big. My round garden is 20 feet diameter and there are 6 plants are on a 6 foot center. Way to close. Next year only 4 plants in the round garden.Already had that plant tape break once this year on that big plant, but at least no damage.
