How big will they grow in flower?

Hi,

Im currently in my 4th week of veg from cuttings and my ladies are 11inches tall. ive heard that i should stop vegging and start flowering when my plants are at a certain hight, taking into consideration the size of my grow space, to allow them enough room to grow during flower.

what is the rate of growth change expected in flower? If i were to flick from Veg to flower when they are 11 inches what could they grow up to?

I want to make sure my ladies dont out grow the space i have and end up being too close to the HPS light.

Thanks guys

There are some variables. Most will say they will double when you switch, but it depends on genetics, lighting, additives, etc. You do need to look at the amount of space and if you topped the plants to make them bushy or if you did any other training. You also may want to look into a wire tomato set up to keep the colas from breaking and drooping and it will keep everything you like poinred toward the light.
Hope that helps.

Hi Brother Numsi,

Yeah i have topped them, they are looking quite bushy already. lots of new growths (baby fan leaves) where i have taken the tops off (the main stem and the side branches). The spacing between the nodes is quite small and the plants are getting quite dense. Im going to leave the new growth to mature and veg out before i think about switching to flower.

The tomato frame looks good, will that restrict bud growth at all?

Thanks for your help,

Eve,
As with any "restriction" it more like the survival of the fittest. Keep directing the colas upward, although they will stretch to the light. Usually the main ones will be the fittest. It's not SCROG, but you may find it reacts a little like that. Might I suggest, if possible, some sort of side lighting?
Keep the questions coming :) Above all, learn and have some fun!

I usually let y veg to between 9-10 inches and will normally end up with plants around 3 feet when they are all done

Brother Numsi thanks again, i have been considering some side lighting for sure. They are quite dense so light penetration from the top to the lower growth is probably small. thanks for your help. =D

Slim83 thats good growth in flowering, i better keep an eye on my beauts.

Thanks guys
