How can I cool my grow room without using an AC???

I'm running a 1000w mh winged reflector in a room that's at least 8x9x9. But I can't keep the room temp below 82f. I have a oscillating blowing over the canopy which usually stays about the temp as the room. I have tried running a in-line for both intake and exhausting the room. I guess I'm just missing the big picture. Can anybody help fill me in?

I use a 1000 hps with a cooled reflector , I push the exhaust fan through it , Then it exits the reflector into some ducting . Very little heat is left in the room . I use a dimmer on the exhaust fan to change temp.

Is your therm in the light? If so it could be reading higher. I had that problem... But I got no clue how to deal with those winged reflectors, I use a tube. If 82 is the highest you should be okay though. Mine get up to 82 a lot of days. I usually try to keep it at 79 max though.

i ran a wing up until 2 days ago in my 5x5x5
ive got a 1/5hp exhaust
i can drop the temp a quick 10 degrees in a short period of time
id say if youve got no ventilaton
big exhaust with a speed controller. craigslist for a cheap blower
and a passive intake/inline fan

passive intake will be the easiest.
just have a neutral hole for the intake and suck the heat out blower and cold air in passive intake

Put in under a top leaf or against the wall at canopy height, but not directly under the light. Attracts heat and such, or at least mine does.

Seems like a simple fix to me. You need an air cooled hood instead of a wing reflector. 1000w is always a little hard to cool with no a/c and just intake and exhaust fans. Especially in the summertime in most places.

Look at fleebay you can get a cooltube with xxl reflector for less then 70 dollars its crazy. 3 years ago it would have cost 3 times that much. Its easy really either blow lots of money on fans and duct the hell outa everything and increase you noise with them or get a cooltube with a fan speed controller.

my dro shop has a trade in corner they always have hoods for under 100. i found 2 600s maybe 2.5 feet in length. 75 for the pair.

If you keep the wing reflector for reasons unknown to us take your two fan and suck the hot air from the highest point in the room and make or open any access for cool air from the lowest point in the room. Your room is 648 cubic feet you want to exchange the air once every min so you need a fan that has about that many cfm's. Keep in mind that is unrestricted air if you have duct on your fans the cfm's will go down and more cfm's will be required. Also if you want to upgrade that is the ideal temp for co2 but then you would have to seal up the room and get a ac unit.

fishing and working on a remodel. been so busy haven't had much time to get online. starting to slow down a little though. how you been?
Eh, my life is fucked but I still keep trucking! Haha...no, but seriously, a lot of shit hitting the fan as of late, just doing my best to stay out of the way and support everyone the best I can. Glad to see you didn't disappear completely, and you're still contributing here! :)
