How Can I Get Back The Highs I Had In The Good Ol'' Days?

I am a very experienced pot smoker, have been toking once a week on average for about 9 months when I first started smoking, then I decided to go hard. I smoked twice a day on average for about 2 months with heavy use, then I decided to take a 45 day break to lower my tolerance which I did. After the break, I still couldn't get back those first time highs, it was more like the highs I got in my first 9 months of toking. So from there until now I've been smoking more heavily for about 2 months, 3 times a day on average this time and I want to be able to get better highs, so out of all the stoners on this forum, do you guys know any ways I can get really good highs? Should I smoke 2-3 times more than I do right now in quantity? Any help would be appreciated.

What time period are you talking about? When were the good ol' days?

According to my calculations, 9 months of once a week, then 2 months of twice per day, then a 45 day break, that's 6 weeks, then 2 months, 3 times per day.

I come up with 5 1/2 months.

Were the good ol' days still in 2011??

To answer your question, there are only 2 things that can get you higher:

Smoke better stuff.

Or smoke more of whatever you're already smoking.

you are not very experienced my man.

you are an experienced smoker when you wake up in the morning lite up wash your mouth make breakfast lite up....

i smoked an average of 2 blunts a day in highschool.... the very minimum 1 before going to bed EVERY night... even after having a run in with cops... got home, and smoked....

you just need to find a connect that gets different kinds of buds every once in awhile...

I'm of the opinion that if you can still find pipe you need to smoke more.

That said smoke as much as you need to get as high as you want.
 
Biochemically, marijuana stays in the body for months on end because it binds so well to fatty tissue. For you to drop your tolerance, you'll first have to get all the stuff you previously smoked to filter out. You're on the right step going through clean peroids. Try tapering off to less or going dry for a longer period and see if that improves for you. Also try a cleansing or detoxification regimen. Think quality not quantity when getting high. Tolerance is a weird thing. Some chemicals filter out faster than others, and some people are better at filtering them out than others as well. Here are my previous experiences for you to draw your own conclusions from. Your own results can, and most likely will, be different.

2 years ago, I decided to smoke once a day for four days in a row. While still relaxing. The high's intensity started to drop off real fast. Not as many cool visions or inspiring thoughts. Didn't touch it again for six months after that. Upon lighting back up again, the highs were at least as intense as the first of the four day run. I had smoked maybe once a fortnight prior to that.

4 months ago I quit drinking after being a borderline functional alcoholic for several years. I still use wine and liquor for cooking, and have no interest in drinking it anymore, so I still keep some in my kitchen. Anyways, I was using some cognac to make french onion soup. This is stuff I used to drink by multiple glassfuls. The smell of the 1/4 cup or so I used to deglaze the stock pot nearly knocked me flat on my back!

I used to get up in the morning roll a joint with the gunk from my eyes going in it lol Light up sit down on bed smoke half go to the bathroom smoking on the way put it on the side wash my face then go down make a cup of tea sit on the table smoke the rest gaze at the wall for 10 minutes make breafast and start the day :D

Yeah man I have burnt ounces of good in a day on many occasions, all through high school and even more in the years since, and I still don't consider myself "experienced".

I have to smoke well over an 1/8th a day on average... and I still only feel that old school high I used to get maybe once a day for like 10 minutes. You gotta keep your strains fresh so you don't get too used to one bud. I have NEVER taken a break like you hear some people do for a month or whatever.

In all seriousness though it just sounds like you're smoking reg-O's. You need to find some kind bud and you'll forget all about those old school highs. Out with the old, in with the kind.

Well quality is going to have an impact on potency. Smoking hash will get you way higher than buds for instance. Grow your own and try diferent strains of indica sativa and hybrids until you find some strains that offer the desired effect. Even when you find something that works, you have some different stuff around for your different moods. You don't smoke that much, I am like yu I don't usually smoke that often either anymore. Weed gets me way higher in small amounts and it''s easier tofeel the effects of particular weed. Harvests will last a long time and you will improve the quality of it over time too.

the first time i smoked the bho i got the giggles again, me and my buddy laughed for like 5 mins straight. i dont even remember at what. been a lot time since i felt like that lol. but i have been a daily smoker for about 10 years so i definitely had some tolerance built up

if you can do it a tolerance break is the best thing. i dont know how much having THC in your system affects your high like that one guy said, but i think when you smoke everyday your brains supply of pleasure chemicals depletes. so smoking more will temporarily get you higher, but over time you will just need more and more.

The general consensus is that it will easily bring you back too like the first time you smoked again. Like mentioned my first time dabbing BHO i got the full blown giggles again. It changed my marijuana lifestyle dramatically. I hope you give it a shot. If you have ANY questions check that thread first and chances are they were covered.
