I'm currently in the final stages of building a cabinet from the DIY section, which can be found here: www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/9116-scrog-cabinet-part-1-a.html (basically a 250 hps cabinet with 4 compartments each 23''x27''x46'') In the instructions, the author uses an open flow system using 11 gallon rubermaids to hold the plants; this requires a res in a lower compartment. (FWIW, I can't find a 11 gallon rubbermaid container, all I can find is a 10 gallon like this: Storage boxes which is approx 9'' tall) I would like to do away with the res in the lower compartment. Would a DWC system work in a 11 gallon rubbermaid? Maybe aeroponics? What other forms of hydro growing would you recommend that would be short enough to allow me space to grow scrog in only 46'' of height?

To go on that though....I think individual DWC's are the way to go if you choose DWC, unless your working with clones. If you working with seeds you take the chance of it being a male. If that's the case you will have a decent root mass when you finally do determine this. You will end up having to cut the male out and leaving some of the roots behind. This will put you at about 2 months or more with a "dying" root mass down there. I can only assume this can lead to some sort of root problems for you living plants. My advice is go with individual 5 gallon DWC's if it's DWC. Cat litter buckets work great, and cheap if you can find them. Get a couple of good air pumps and all the stuff necessary for the DWC's. Read that growfaq up there if you haven't, some people have been putting in some really good work on that from what I've seen. Mogie, NGT, FDD, KP just to name a few that I've seen. Your space problem...ehhh
