How deep does your newly cracked seedlings need to be planted in Coco?

I was curious to how deep newly cracked seeds would have to be buried in Canna Coco with A&B nutes? Also how much water would need to be added to avoid terminating your seedlings into, let's say a 4 inch pot? I've had good luck with plugs but have never done the wet paper towel method yet. My fear is moisture standing to long in the pot. Thanx in advance. Cheers

A quarter inch to a half an inch.

you could always drill holes in the bottom of the pot for drainage.....but yeah 1/4 to 1/2 inch......i would stray away from nutes this early, but u r using coco so, go easy on it but u might be ok....just my two cents...good luck

Thanx for the reply. That's the part I was really curious about considering I was reading that a plain watering ( no nutes ) would wash the buffering agent out of the Canna Coco medium. There would have to be some kind of nutes added I was thinking to keep from disrupting the buffering agent. And also how much water at first? Would it be a run off or a light watering? It's them fine details that gets me to second guessing myself.

You see with Coco in general (im not familiar with Canna) but raw Coco is 0-0-0.....so a little nitrogen kick wouldnt be the worst thing to happen.....also with Coco, it likes to retain water when its properly watered, you go three days w/o water and the nutes u add will runoff the side of the pot, so keep it moist.....im just going by general knowledge of coco....if u could snap some pics so i have a better idea i could point you in the general direction where i used coco and got great results.....always here to help the next up and comers.....happy growing n posts some pics or pm me and i can point u in the general direction

Using perlite isn't a absolute but from the lil experience/experiments I've done, perlite definitely makes watering a lil more foolproof...(I think 3:1 or 4:1 ratio)
...and I'm hoping your pots do have holes at the bottom at least...

Yes, they're 4 inch pots with the proper draining holes in them.
