my girlfriend just bought me a nice little glass pipe from one of her friends she never cleaned it and its got resin buildup bad... also i hear that resin makes you higher???? is it true i dont care for the taste though..
How do i clean my pipe?

If its caked in there good, which it probably is, you can try soaking it in alcohol for like an hour, then shaking it with alcohol and salt or alcohol and rice.
Best bet is to go to your local headshop though and buy the green orange clean stuff for pipes, you just set it in there overnight and rinse it with hot water the next day, works wonders for little pipes.

I totally agree. If the pipe has a big enough hole, ie. a bong or bubbler, I just dump some rice in with a funnel so it doesn''t go everywhere and then put in enough alcohol to cover the rice about 2 inches ( i personally use 91% isopropyl alcohol, it seems to work a little better). Then I just shake and swirl the rice and alcohol mix and the alcohol lossens up the resin and the rice acts as little scrubbers. If the holes on the pipe aren't big enough to use rice, i use epsom salt or table salt in place of the rice, but I let it sit overnight in alcohol first. If that doesn't work, I will boil it out as a last resort. Make sure if you're going to boil it out, you use a pan that you don't plan on using for food anymore, because in my experience the resin tends to stick to the inside of the pan once it is boiled out of the pipe. (That boiled out resin has to end up somewhere). You can scrape, but I never do. It's a tedious process and it's almost impossible to get all the gunk out by just scraping. IMHO it's just not worth all the work of scraping for a minimal amount of resin, but if you choose to, it will probably help to heat the pipe up with a lighter prior to scraping to help lossen the resin. Hope some of that helps.

Shake it (carefully) for about 5 minutes then let it sit for about an hour come back shake it again. Then take it out wash it with soap and water and bling!

this sucks... after i cleaned it with the alcohol and salt i smoked a nice bowl with my girlfriend and she got blazed and dropped the pipe and we were on concrete in the garage and it shattered!!! FML... another FML moment... out of weed!!!!!! until friday lol

nevermind about cleaning the pipe now. me and my girlfriend were in the garage smoking and about an hour later we go inside well in the process of going inside she drops the pipe on the ground and it shattered!!! oh well it happens,, we both laughed about it at the time but now it sucks..p.s. im out of green.... NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO

EXACTLY. put pipe in ziplock bag, about a cup or so epson salt, and submerge it all in 91% ISO alcohol. You might wana double or even triple bag the ziplock just incase.. shake the shit out out of the bag every 15 minutes or so for 3 hours. then run hot sink water directly through all the holes.use isopropyl alcohol and salt.
actually, use a poker, i need to sell some more glass.
Brand new pipe, all over again.

I use baking soda and white vinegar : I put the pipe in a small jar that has a lid. Pour in a small amount of vinegar, add about a tablespoon of baking soda and quickly (VERY quickly) put the lid on tightly and shake it gently. The soda reacts violently with the vinegar and pushes out any build up (that's if you're not saving the resin.) You may have to do it a couple of times, and use some kind of pipe cleaner to get out the rest. I'll admit, I've never used this with a glass pipe, but it works well for others.
