How do i Increase Bud size

I just finished my first grow. Extrema, super silver haze, the mask and white widow. I had 11 girls under a 600 hps magnum xl hood. My yield is around an ounce per plant but I think my supersilver haze might give me a 1.5 ounces. My plants vegged to bout 3 feet and finished at bout 4 feet. Im using gh flora series nutes along with atami liquid koolbloom and flora nectar.I grew them in 2.5 gal trash cans wider at the top than bottom. Also I LST and topped my plants. My grow went great but I look on the net and in cannabis mags and see plants with tops the size of 2 liter coke bottles. What do I need to do to achieve bud size like that. Please help me becomes better cannabis gardener. Plus reps will be given out for good suggestions

use a bud promter like bud blood then use big bud.. you can't go wrong..

room temperature and fresh air could be holding you back. 1000 watt hps should be a consideration if you want those donkey dicks also

did you have any ventilation? co2 would help some too. topping will guve you more colas but less in size so if you didnt top it you would have that 1 big main cola. also what was your lst like? the way i lst mine is i tie those bitches right down so after 5-6 weeks of veging there only about a foot tall but theirs allot of plant.

alas, colas the size of a human forearm sometimes magically appear, but most of the time, it has a lot to do with your growing conditions and plant genetics. from what i know about the plants you're growing, you've got a lot of heavy branchers that produce many many smaller buds at different points on a bunch of smaller branches. i think you're looking for the plants that grow one main cola and then juice it up like a badass mofo. of course there are plants that produce several pounds each, but like i said - light conditions and genetics play a huuge part in this.
and most importantly, practice makes perfect

Genetics has A LOT to do with it. Where did you get the seeds? Amsterdam marijuana seed? It's cool tho, your harvests will get bigger everytime you harvest. Like dude said, practice. You shouldn't consider yeild so much your first grow anyways. It's more about finishing the first time. You did that, so now that you understand the plant a little better, you can hone your skills. It seems too, that the biggest buds are grown in rooms that use CO2 enrichment. Also, topping makes the buds smaller.
Gardening like anything takes time and practice to master (I know that's not what you wanna hear). There's no one magical nutrient that gonna help you. You can grow donkey dicks with Miracle Grow if you're good enough. People think that the longer you grow the more complicated your OP becomes, but the truth is the opposite. As you go along you should strive to make your garden more simple.

If you pick the right strain that's acclimatized to you region, or just good indoor genetics. Dial in you OP so it's always stable (temp & humidity, ventilation and exhaust, lights, CO2, pH & ppm etc). Keep them pest and deficiency free. And make sure the plants get the right nutrient ratios at every stage of life, you wont be able to STOP growing 2L bottle sized colas.

i remember my first couple of outdoor grows when i was piss thrilled just to find a seed in some killer bud and watch it grow. i planted bag seeds in the forest near my house and spent the summers gardening and hiking around where i had my seeds planted, and i still do the same thing to this day. so much of growing has to do with what you're comfortable with and what you have available. for instance, i'm perfectly happy growing indoors under cfls (and i often start my seedlings this way) but nothing beats the raw outdoor sun. so many other people disagree with me and have crazy buds to prove their setup. i still get that excitement when a small plant takes off or flowering starts booming - remember, its all about the little joys of growing.
grow enough plants for enough seasons and i guarantee you'll perfect your own killer bud recipe.
o and luck has a lot to do with it too XD

read up on mixing molasses with your water while flowering. its supposed to swell up your buds nice.
