The ingredients of Natural pest solutions inc. "Deer & Rabbit Solution":
"Active" ingredients: Cinnamon Oil 3.14%, Table salt 1.20%
"inert" ingredients(95.66%): Vinegar, Guar gum, Eggs, Onion, Water, Coffee
The skinny: Dept of agriculture does not allow you to call any products other than chemicals "active" ingredients. If the inert ingredients did nothing, they wouldn't be in there.
The old farmer at the garden center said that this is the best one out there. It works on deer, rodents, rabbits, squirrels, almost all mammals. It comes with 2 small 2 oz. bottles with the solution in them, comes in an approx. 32 oz. spray pump bottle. You use one 2 oz bottle at a time. I believe it retails for approx $13, but you can also get eggs, coffee, vinegar, and cinamon oil and mix it yourself. I still use the pump bottle because I really like the pump style, but remake the solution from what I have. I haven't gotten my crops eaten once in two years. I live in the middle of the forest and see deer every day. I spray it directly on the plants(not during flower), as well as on the plants all around it in a small area. I havent ever experienced leaf burn from it, but I would apply once in a small area to make sure.
It seems quite water resistant as it is very oil based. After HUGE rains I would definitely reapply.
