Ok, seen this work wonders for squirrels, rabbits, deer, all of the animals. Mix crab boil at triple strength the directions say on the back. The stronger the better. Use HOT water to assist mix. Pour in a radius around your garden. Make sure you keep it far enough away to keep it out of your roots. The wider you pour it the better. Like pour it starting 10 feet from garden and stop pouring 13 feet. Nothing's coming in there

I've never had problems with squirels either but I did have a chipmunk living a couple feet uphill from my plant. I always dropped a handful of horse treats for him when I checked on it.

The real reason that works is that dog's also mark with poo...so that is now your dog's territory...lol. Easier to just let a male unneutered dog go mark all the plants for you...Nothing gets in our outdoor veggie garden because it is his...he has peed on every corner and post...it is a raised bed setup...so...all the tomato stakes and all that will not be messed with by any stray or feral animals...I would say you can borrow him to come pee on all your plants too, but I just dropped him off to get snipped this morning...so his want to pee 3 million times will hopefully diminish...he'll be content to just pick one spot and leave all his info there...

shiny pie plates on strings will keep squirrels away, but then again they will also signal to everything else that something is there...especially things in the air...as the plates move in the breeze they are like a CD held in the sun...and for some reason it messes with squirrels hardcore...it also keeps away most birds and deer and just most things that come to nibble away at crops...metal pie plates strung about...lol.

But not safe in a scenario where you are trying to stealthy...
