How do I select a male?

Of course you get to name it. That’s why there are thousands of silly strain names that have nothing to do with the ‘medicine’. It’s why Monkey Tirds and Lesbian Wedding Cake are the hottest strains out right now!!
Hurry before they’re out of stock. Don’t grow your own hack genetics. You need the expensive seeds we have!
Hype and shite. Breed your own. It will crush store bought without you even trying hard
I think the whole pot cultivation culture is heading that way. On one hand you have cultivators churning hybrid after hybrid, on the other hand you have those who holds on to 20 weeks flowering strain as if its the holy grail.

I say breed your own shit and forget the seed market bullshit.

Muddled hybrids are the present and future; you are correct. It’s what nature does by herself, so it's not awful, but seed banks have accelerated the evolutionary process.

We select males for pollination based on appearance generally, and that’s not an accurate indicator of desirable traits. Few seed banks are putting in the work and science to grow out offspring from many fathers and the same mother.
My point is, if you have good weed, and you’re growing regular photos, your home breeding creates seeds as good as most breeders.

That said, I have two seeds sent to me by my Dutch friend of the strain Dr Grinspoon. It’s supposedly an heirloom, mostly sativa. I’m not growing them now, but excited about it. And I’ll learn for myself if the mystique is stronger than the pot.

dr. grinspoon is a novelty breed, it grows stringy little buds that are completely foxtails, no structure at all....i guess the quality is supposed to be ok, but it doesn't produce much...if you want to grow it for the novelty value, have fun, if you're expecting to get pounds of pretty buds, yer gonna be disappointed

Roger that, Roger. I’ve seen that exact photo. The seeds were gifts, and people swear by the high, so I’m looking forward to my experience of it.
I have lots of flower from my outdoor crop; Grinspoon is definitely a novelty, like eating at a famous restaurant that isn’t that great. I still want to try it. Thanks for commenting

You have to be able to flower a male for a month or two before you will see tricomes, if you do its a good sign. Doesn't garentee other attributes like bud structure.
