How do indoor flowering times relate to outdoors?

Does the amount of time it takes for a plant to mature at 12/12 in a grow room the same as outdoors with changing light cycles? I'm planning on buying seeds, 50/50 indica/sativa mix, they say 48 days indoors, they put the yield at 870g/m2 (whatever that means), if they started to flower around late july/early august, when do you think they would mature? I've never grown before but I'm planning on doing it this summer. We have plenty of ditchweed plants in the summer so that's how I figured out the start of flowering. I need some plants ready for drying by Early October at the latest probably.

im no expert but im pretty sure once flowering has been induced, it doesnt matter where the plant is, its gonna take the same length of time. although 48 days seems kinda short... must be a quick finisher

indoors or out once the light cycle cuts back to less than 14 hours of light the plant will start to flower. now pending on the length of flower time depends on the strain. your indica strains usually take anywhere from 8 to 10 weeks. your sativas are 10 week to14 weeks.start counting days of flower when light cycle changes not when you see buds. hope this helps. good luck

another thing u can do is look at when the plant gives you the first BURST of white hairs. it usually takes the plant up to 2 weeks to begin showing flowering after the light cycle change. so if your not sure then u can just subtract 2 weeks from that first burst to give u an idea. its not 100% but if u have no other ways of telling then its better than nothing.

Definitely the way to go.

Too many people think the start of flowering is when you reach 12/12 and no matter where you grow you are robbing yourself of precious bloom growth and maturation if you do so.
