Ph was been around 6.0, 2nd week flower vanilla kush barney's... PPM is 500 range.... Also should they be floating on the surface like that???? And I know one of the signs for slim to develop is light in the rez. Is that continuous amounts, or can u just have a light in there for a few minutes ???SAM_0913.jpgSAM_0918.jpgSAM_0914.jpgSAM_0915.jpgSAM_0916.jpgSAM_0917.jpg

Meast,I don't know how long, but it takes more than a few minutes.
Looks like it's been low in water by the thick roots, that's a waste of energy.
PH should be 5.8.
Are the roots slimy?
Do you change it every week?
I like rapid start.

Ph is about 6.0 and I let the plant drink up the nutes, meaning I let my 4 gal rez get down to about 1.5 gallons then switch out water and nutes... Depending how big the plant is its anywhere from 6 to 10 days.....

Unless the roots are slimy, from what I see------ looks OK. Usually you get some nute stain when the roots are submerged.

What is your nute temp? anything above 79 and you're flirting with trouble-------I've good great crops in the high 60s.

Just saw your post-----Don't let your nute level get that low-----one way is to set up a nute level controller.

I have to let them get that low because I'm always dealing with ph rising due to my small 4 gal rez, It's just easier this way.... Nute temp is usually around 70-71... My roots do look good however 1 root does look a little slimey.... Alaric is it okay for the roots to be laying on the surface like that ??

What do you mean ph is rising because of small reservoir? I've got 6 small clones vegging in a small 1 gallon emily's garden/dwc setup and ph stays stable. I run 5 gallon reservoirs for DIY aeroflo systems and ph stays stable every time I check it 5.8-5.9, when I add water I just ph balance it before I pour it in and ph stays same. Why do I keep hearing people blame a same the small reservoir and not the 80+ degree water?

As the plants take up nutes your ph will rise, so small plants won't be using as much nutes so the ph stays stable longer.
nutes raise ph in water, so as these nutes get used, the ph should rise.

ideal situation in DWC you want to start with a ph around 5.5 and let it climb to about 6.2, that's what I aim for anyway. Different nutrients will be used at slightly different ph levels, so you should aim for this slight increase in ph when growing in hydro.

id be a little worried about those roots, they look a little brown, make sure you have heaps of oxygen in your res and the temp is correct, it should be around 20 degree (68 f).

My first dwc grow pulled 2oz sour ak from a 2 gallon bucket. Not saying I didn't have problems, but I have had the same problems in 5 gallon buckets too. It just depends on the size of the rootball.

It's weird, just a few weeks ago I was talking shit about the greased down rock star with tight pants in the lost boys blasting on a saxophone... just seems like a staple of the 80s: rock bands with a saxophone player; you just don't get that shit anymore. These days it would be hard to feel like a stud rockin a sax and tights.

Shit made me almost piss my pants when I rewatched the lost boys after about 15 years, and that big ass muscle man was getting down on that sax! I guess that guy is a famous sax player from 80's, he played with tina turner and other, I forgot his name. But yeah no one has the balls today to throw on some tights and blast the sax.LOL

PS. except this dude. Sexy Sax Man Careless Whisper Prank feat. Sergio Flores (directors cut)
