forgive me if this is a stupid question but how do some growers make thier plants look like trees? what i mean is all the leaves on top but have 'tree like trunks' near the bottom with no leaves? i have some plants that are a month old in veg and they are very bushy(not that theres anything wrong with that). but how would one get that 'tree look' and is there any benefit to it?

thanks

Just vegetate it for longer, pump them full of nutrients and give them tons of light. Tipping them, supercropping and LST are all good ways of getting bigger plant mass and with that big plant you will need lots of space for the roots.

I think he meant "topping" not "tipping".bongsmilie

wouldnt cutting the lower leaves cause the plant to constantly try healing itself thus hindering growth?
You do most of the trimming when the branches are still small, so the plant doesnt notice too much. It really makes a difference if you are going for donkey dick colas.

I trim up my indoor for cleanliness. I usually have 4-6 main colas. Helps keep PM and other problems at bay. The lower part of the plant usually doesn't get much light anway and always sucks to trim, I cut off most lower growth, lets air pass easily also. Hope this helps.

I am going to start leaving a few of the lower branches and then just strip them and put the little buds in what I started calling the hash bucket. I bought bubble bags and want more stuff to process, and those lower branches are perfect to add to the other trim.
