How do these look? Time to water?

If only it was that easy...... It's winter here at the moment and our high court passed judgement that it was unconstitutional to forbid the cultivation and use of marijuana within a private home. The government is now appealing the judgement and it's going to the Constitutional court at the end of this month so yeah that complicates things.. I may have jumped the gun after hearing about the high court judgement.

Plant 1: Looking healthy.
Plant 2 (one that just started with spots): Curling bottom leaves, normal?

Plant 3 (sick): Keep hope alive or should replace with a clone from each of the other two when they get topped = 4 plants under 400w in a 3 x 4 - 5" room?

Cannabis has a wirey, fibrous root system. Some plants literally don't like to be disturbed. Cannabis is not one of them.
Trust me on this...I wouldn't steer you wrong. It's THE best way of seeing if your roots are healthy.

Ok I pruned the roots and the worst leaves but by cutting through the leaf and not the branch except the lowest 1. Not sure what we can tell from the roots?

may i ask, have you ever grown anything except cannabis?
 
The pic you posted above, gives the impression you are a struggling newbie, your plants with the yellowing lower leaves show signs of needing nitrogen I reckon. And while the pic shown is a lanky specimen, the shadows on the wall show quite a display of quite healthy tall budding plants.
 
Find a deeper pot, bury that leggy stem as deep as you can.
Bigger pot, bigger harvest. that little shitling needs all the help it can get now.

Hahaha you would be correct haha. Early stretch in the first few days after sprouting but the other 2 seem to be doing alright apart from the N deficiency which I agree with you on. I just watered without nutes though so hopefully the fresh soil that was on top will provide some nutes untill the soils dry again. Those shadows aren't mj plants though unfortunately :) I know that my 2nd grow will go a whole lot better.

Gonna let it recover in the small pot and then transplant back into the big pot I reckon unless there are any objections?
 
It can recover in the big pot, just fine. That plant is weeks behind where it should be now already.

i think learning the basics of general plant growing and knowing why plant biology function they way they do instead of "this packet said to give it a spoon full of this and it will grow" is key to becoming a successful grower. Not saying you need to go the the college of biological science but just rough knowledge can help alot and you wont need to make threads like this.
 
Ok I think I can make a few conclusions now and the first reply from cannabisweedPotNerd which said "looks hungry" was on the money, though some elaboration would've be helpful. Instead of just feeding it I want to learn the signs as best I can now in my first grow and be able to differentiate so here's what I've come up with and maybe it'll be helpful to others too.

Looks like a Manganese and Nitrogen deficiency for the most part along with a minor P and/or K deficiency. My pH might be slightly closer to 7 than 6 (using litmus strips). Still hard to conclude whether it was under or over watered but I'm leaning towards under due to not having watered over 2 weeks and humidity has been around 30% but if my soil/perlite ratio at around 35% perlite is retaining water too much then it could be that. Misting once with a few drops of liquid kelp and once with a tiny a spec of diluted NPK likely caused leaf burn and was too early. Smart pots, premium soil, transplanting and 2 x 150w CFLs for veg next time will probably ensure I don't have any of the same problems again.

It's a hot winters day today so figured I'd put them outside for a while. Temps are a bit high around 83f, is that ok, I mean it's only natural right? They look beautiful dispite the problems and I can't stop myself from looking at them every few hours and posting some pics :)

Surprised that no one mentioned this... Further research suggests that it's actually a cal/mag deficiency.

Yeah could be Cal/mag... also a lot of new plants just show stress from the medium they are growing in. Your pots look awfully large for those little guys. I usually wait until the leaves reach the outside of the pot before potting up. That is what I've learned from the folks here on RIU... Bigger pots lead to watering issues (Unless you are growing autos) It's hard to guesstimate where the roots are and how much to saturate the soil if the root structure is only in a 6in x 6in area... very easy to overwater and get root rot or other overwatering problems.

If you are using RO water then definitely add cal/mag to every watering at 1 tsp/gal. Pulling the trigger on an RO system has been the best $150 bucks ive spent. Consistent, pure water every feeding... I know exactly what the girls are getting every watering/feeding.

I wouldn't worry too much about those spots... I'm going to guess they are on the lowest leaves... it happens. Add some cal/mag every water and life should be good.

What soil are you using?

Do you get searls potting mix in your country , never had an issue with that we also don't get FF
