How do u max bud size and yield ??

Flippancy aside, the best things you can do imo are:
1) use intense lighting. A 600W MH and a 1000W HPS can run a 4x4 area.
2) Either veg a long time to build lots of biomass that can support the large yield, or become good at cloning and grow a "sea of green" in many smaller pots. This is a great way to max not only yield but turnaround time. So far, I've only vegged trees for months, and gotten good yields from those.
For huge individual colas, you will want to grow single-stem "Christmas trees" (more and smaller ones with the height restriction ... you need to leave airspace between the cola and the lighting) andor "lollipop" them. I never cared for show colas, so i topped my plants to make for many smaller colas but a really rather good final yield of my last grow - almost 20 ounces under a 600W HPS.

Hope this helps. cn

Or, from the other side, scrog. It depends on if plant count or veg time (or seperate veg area) matters.
Two ways to go at it IMO.

Foliage foliage foliage....keep as many leaves on the plant and green AS POSSIBLE and bountiful harvest is assured

All proceeding advice is solid, but the magic bullet for maximizing buds & yield is. . .

There isn't one.
Keep a stable, clean environment, lots of the proper spectrum lighting, ventilation & don't go nuts with all the snake oils out there.
Healthy plants are really the key.

Just throwing an idea in here.
Old CD's, cut up, over the soil surface to reflect light back up.
Reflects better than soil etc and cheap/free.

I'll usually add a 1/4" layer of pearlite directly to the top of the soil for that purpose.
It floats on top of the water, thus staying on the surface and maintains its light color very well.

I looked into polystyrene balls for the same purpose but apparently it can leach nasty stuff into the soil/water etc.

Patience. It goes along way in this endeavour. It is tested well your first few, especially towards the finish.
Good Luck and Happy Growing

basically any and all improvements you make to either your room, your nutes or your growing method..... put in a mover you can lower your lights and cover more area.... seal off the room and add CO2.... start with easy lineup like the basic grow system for General Organics or General Hydroponics for your nutes... upgrade your lights... all these little things add up along with a SOG or ScrOG.... theres a TON of things to improve your yields... but id only change one at a time so if something goes wrong you know immediatly what it is
