how do you all dry/cure your harvest?

Everybody do yourself a favor and try to water cure just an 8th of an oz of your harvest. Because your'e doing it right after you pull the plant, i doubt anyone will have mold problems due to not caring. Of course you will care because it will be your first taste of harvest! Everybody wants to get at least a taste of their own grow every season as soon as possible. We either chop it up and microwave it, put it on foil in the oven and turn ever minute, dehydrate it in a food dehyrator, etc, etc. If you have the time to do some craziness like that to try your weed early, try water curing.

I've smoked water cured spliffs in front of police and all they smelled was tobacco.

I would like to get creative this year (as it looks like I'll be able to afford to, woohoo!) and try an extraction, a water cure and blender hash.

I was also wondering ... has anyone tried putting something in the jar during curing and/or storage? I was thinking of trying a stick of cinnamon in one, a vanilla bean in another, a licorice root, and a star anise, etc. These are the only ones I've thought of so far. Being dried herbs, they may also protect against excess humidity. Has anyone tried anything like this?

I once bought an ounce of weed off of a guy for less than 100. It all smelled like potpourri. It was ok pot but you can tell that he was spraying it with perfume or some shit.

I also had a buddy do the lemon peel thing. Its cool and better than it was before he did it.

I'll tell you what DOESN'T work. My 2nd grow (I'm on my 3rd) I put a bunch of mint in the same pot growing with my blue dream. It sure as hell didn't taste like mint. :(

but yeah, I definitely hope you try ALL those different things this year. I love learning and trying new things.

Well. spraying something on it sounds just awful, but I might try storing with a sachet of an organic potpouri; perhaps a sachet of dried mint. I have about 10 pint jars that I plan on dedicating to these little experiments. I'm not sure if I should put the item in at the curing or storage stage. I am leaning toward just popping the item in as soon as the buds are placed in the jar.

The key to curing is time. I hang large branches, spaced fairly loosely, but touching. If the weather is cool, I'll use a couple fans to keep air circulating. Once dry, I trim and break down the buds. Those go into a large paper bag(s) until they are done. I then put them in oven roating bags where they continue to cure for several months. The important part is letting them dry over a period of several weeks to eliminate the chlorophyll.

How about trying both?

why wont be me beaten by the cops.. lol
You're not in California, are you? ;) I try to respect them by walking away before I light up but if they happen to be at a light rail station and its already lit, wtf is a brotha sposed to do? Friends and I have been caught passing blunts in club parking lots. All they tell us is to walk away from the club and come back when we're done. Not a whole lot of assholes in Sacramento. I think we have a lot more cool cops than bully cops in this city.

I'm telling you....water cured bud is almost odorless. The chlorophyl comes out the water. The smell of tobacco is very strong. It completely over powers any slight smells from the water cured bud in spliffs.

I put my trimmed buds in large paperbags and stir the buds every day, tapering off to weekly. Once they seem stable, I put them in turkey roasting bags which is a very tight seal. Unless the buds are "over" dry, the remaining moisture will allow the buds to slowly finish curing. I opened two big bags that hadn't been touched in 6 months, this morning. The smells were sensational.
