How do you calculate the size of carbon filter?

Ok so my gorilla grow tent is 2 X 2.5 X 5' 11" Tall
What is the proper way to calculate how much cubic feet or whatever I have to scub, and how many times a minute the air needs to be scrubbed in that space....yadda yadda bing bang! I was told by a dude at growershouse a 4" fan/fliter combo would effectively scrub the air. I already have a 170 CFM 4"
fan filter combo. Then he said I could even use a 6" 347CFM combo. Then he said an 8" 720 CFM would be overkill and implode my tent or something!? So to you seasoned veterans I ask this, what do I need to make sure there is NO CHANCE of odor getting out of my area. I dont want to have a 4" fan struggling to clean the air if a 6" can do things more efficiently. I also dont want to have the walls of my tent caved in or whatever. the space is small, and I will likely never have more than 3 girls crammed in it. I just want to know that I can grow 2-3 STINKY strains at a time, and have air clean as a whistle ducted from my tent. Thanks in advance!

Hi. I have the same tent get a 4"can fan or vortex and a 4x16 or a 6x18. Keep in mind you can always turn it down

I have the same size tent and use the smallest filter available. 8x6 inches with a 4 inch opening. I turn the fan down with a speed controller and it is only 165 cfm at highest.

Point is you can use the smallest filter and it should do fine. The thing with bigger filters destroying stuff, do not know. Why bother?

Thanks for your opinions. It looks like my current 4" carbon scrubber should do the trick in my space. That will definitley save me a few bucks. Does the fan speed controller really reduce the noise level? Anyone using a muffler as well?

I too agree with a lighter hammered approach to most regarding grass except; LIGHT,VENTILATION AND GENETICS. in that order sucks watching it go for 9 weeks just to see pm or botrytis (spelling)? just a overkill nerd: use what works for her. cheers and puffpass..
