How do you control your temperature/humidity

Hi

How does everybody control their temperature in the grow room - I assume its by using a combination of fans and heaters but how do you control them? Do you just turn them up and down as you check your thermometer or do you have something more complex?

Please I really need to know a poor mans method of easy temperature control.

Used the bathroom for a growroom. Temp and humidty are always within the normal.

I have my light on 4.99 wal-mart timer. My fans runs constantly. The larger room that my growroom is in has a window AC/heater. I just need to maintain the larger room temp at 70F and the growroom will be at 78F.

Total cost of controls a few seconds a day to adjust the ac/heater and $4.99 + tax.

How about the humidity. I live in a place that the average humidity is around 30%. So how do i increase it to 40-60? A simple room humidifier that you used when you have a cold or something? I found some pretty cheap humidity monitors but no idea how to bring it up or down.

I use fans and a frozen water bottle for temp. Also I have a cool mist humidifer which I bought on ebay for $23 shipped which raised the humidity from 20% to 55% (or whatever I set it at), also when I first change the water it cools the cab as well (after awhile the water cools down so doesn't do as much).

i also have problems with humidity its from 10 to 26% i have 2 fans, in growtent 100x100x160cm, anyone please give some advices how to normalize it....

cheap simple solution to add humidity...

fill up a cereal bowl with fresh, pH balanced water and place it inside your grown room if working with a small to moderate size grow space.

once he temps get higher it'll move the water from the bowl, giving you more moisture!

just remember... heat + moisture = mold

If you are growing in a very small grow room or even a grow box, even cfl's should put off enough heat to keep the area warm. Just adjust your fan so that it is not cooling the roots of your plants too much. And a nice trick to humidify a small grow room is pour hot water into a cup and place it by your plants. The evaporating water will create your humidity and if the area is sealed it works out nicely. Cheers!

I am growing in my bathroom and I can not get the humidity to go below 55-65 I have Dehumidifiers damp rid I mean everything I can think of nothing is working what should I do please help my plants are in the flower for about a week I am scared they are going to root rot and mold

i use a sentinal chhc-4 greenhouse control unit (amazon??) for all my needs but i am looking into a LINK grow system (sensors and acuators cpu run)
RELAX the northwest of america RARELY sees days below 50% humididity and folks grow DANK .
1 circulate more air if all the leaves dont kinda quake with air movement your not moving enough .
2 put a REAL duhuey in there for a good bit and see what it does to your temps . if they go too high in the day take it back and try a A/C window unit . or build a real grow room and buy a good air moving fan ...
3 if you dont SEAL a room your humidity cant drop too much or rise too much from you homes humidity . with open doors

You think if I got a 3x3x6 grow tent it would be better and easier to control humidity than in my bathroom?

My room is always around 60% humidity. Just have really good air flow and you wont have to worry about mold/pm.

I have 4 fans up top for the upper canopy and two for the lower canopy.

I went ahead and got a tent 40x40x80 with a 240cfm inline fan and a 12inch osculating floor fan in a 10 inch oscillating fan I will hang from the top I think that will be perfect

I have used one of those humidifiers in the winter when it was dryer, but I have an atmosphere controller (also a Sentinel chhc-4) to turn it off and on. Those cheap humidity monitors are wildly inaccurate, in my experience. Once your plants get bigger, they will add so much humidity that "too dry" won't be a problem.

You don't need to balance the pH

I know this is a year ago but I made my own fogger with a 5 head ultrasonic humidifier disc in a 5 gallon bucket on a timer. I cut two holes in the lid and attached two hoses. One hose goes into the top of my tent because cool air and humidity both fall and the other hose goes to my AC vent. When the timer kicks the fogger on the AC blows the humidity into my tent along with cool air. For newly transplanted seedlings or clones I keep 70% humidity, for veg, 50%, and flower 35%. As long as you have excellent air exchange and circulation mold nor bud rot should be an issue.
