How do you EXHAUST WARM air in the WINTER????

I vent directly outside. carbon filter 6" inline and less than 18" of pipe run. I never see any steam and I live in a very cold winter area. I only see a little if the fan is turned down to it's lowest setting and the air outside is really dry. If the air is moving fast then you won't see any steam. And / or get a dehumidifier.

mine just warms my flat up, but its a small tent for my hobbie, if i was to do it with a bigger tent id have to make sure ALL my windows are slightly open ALLTHE TIME so as not to get humidity build up in the flat

use the warmth to your advantage

It gets down to -30 where i am and i vent straight out a basement window and i have never seen any steam or whatever...

But...when it does get that cold...the soffit way up above gets frosty. When it warms up to -10 ish the frost disappears...

that sounds about as cold as it gets here. I'm surprised you can't see steam, does the vented air outside smell at all like weed? I was thinking basement grow, but thought if I vented outside from the basement, it might smell more to those walking by vs if I grew in a spare bedroom upstairs and vented out a 2nd floor window.

In this day and age I almost worry more about other growers who know what to look for and may want to break in versus police since my grow would be so small.

Heat rises, so you need a 20-inch box fan sitting on the floor in the doorway. Flip the fan around so that the cooler air is being sucked into the room. This will force the warmer air towards the ceiling to exit out the top of the doorway. Works for me in my perpetual grow flowering room every summer.

The air I'm venting is just basement air run through the lights for my hoods so it comes out very warm and dry. It comes from outside the tent, through ducting and hoods then out a window. So no, it doesn't smell.

As for my odour control, I have a charcoal filter venting too, but that is pretty cool air compared to my vented lights...maybe 78f or 25c at most. It doesn't smell at all, which is on account of a good filter set up with the proper cfm fan. Mind you, my medical grow is quite small 6X7X7.5.

Don't worry about steam. You won't have a problem with that. Worry about smell. Dial that in and you're golden.

And ya... my main worry is about thugs who know what to look for. I just crowd that window with junk around it so people don't look twice...
