The only thing I'll say here is that many breeders are beginning to say do not do water soaks! The thing is that so many people leave them in too long and/or use distilled water......DISTILLED is a major problem as it contains about NO dissolved oxygen! This drowns the seed! It needs O2 to actually grow inside the shell to make the pop...You still may get a pop or 2 from dist, but they turn out weak and mostly die after trans to there home media! RO can have the same problem - I bubble the shit out of mine!No if they float that means the shell is still sealed if the float it usually means water was able to get in and sink yhe shell kinda like a boat once yhe tap roat breaks the shell it is then the tap root that helps keep it afloat if my understanding is correct but i could be off on some of the exact facts
I have done the Ptowel method for over 40 years and never, ever had a problem - Why change?
