Just as the title says I would like to know how do you guys get that loud/dank smell? You know when you have weed wrapped up in a bag, zip lock tied, and in a backpack but you still smell that shit wreaking havoc on your nostrils. That's the kind of smell I want. I am sure drying and curing is pretty important as well as strain? But what about nutrient doses. More nutes, more smell? Also does weed have a stronger smell when it's more stickyou or more on the dry side? The strains I have are blueberry og, sour diesel, green love potion, afghan kush, chemdog, and cr+. I know these ducked have the capability of producing that smell. From you guys experience what's the most EFFECTIVE way of bring those sweet skunky, funky, fruity, citrusey smell out.

Dude you basically said it all! Propper drying and curing, as well as strain and pheno are what affect that final dank smell.

If you over dry your plants after harvest, you'll almost never get that smell back. It's all about a gentle drying (until stems are dry but NOT until they snap). You dry them enough to prevent mold, but not so dry that the curing process stops.

That's when you move your buds to a sealed glass jar with a hygrometer, and aim to get rH to about 58% which is perfect moisture level for curing to occur. Of course your going to have to "burp" your jar to allow excess moisture out and allow fresh air in, but your primary objective is to obtain homeostasis within the jars at around 58%.

If you don't have a hydrometer, you can buy some 62% bovida packets and throw em in your mason jars to help hold moisture close to perfect levels. Your still going to want to follow a normal burping routine for the first two weeks of course, but after that, the bovida packs bovidawill take care of the rest.

Those are MY steps to a good curing. Some strains stink more than others, but under those guidelines I've always managed to produce nice smelling flowers. Hope it helps man!

That was awesome advice....there's just so many mixed viewe on whethe to dry until stem snaps or not. But u cleared it up thanks. Also my harvest are usually way to big to cure in those mason jars, is there anything else I can use..maybe tupperware?

Any tight fitting kidded container will do. But glass or non porous material are prefferable for curing. But currently I'm running g13 pineapple express and dinafem blue cheese

Nice. I'll use the Tupperware for the burping process and jars for long term curing, how does that sound. Also are those strains giving off thathe dank aroma?

give them 2 to 4 days in the dark and then kill all your extract fans for a few hours and they will stink

As for getting that freshness into a bag ??

As people have said it`s down to a lot of things but even if you had the best cronic growing in the world how its flushed and harvested really matters a lot and then how its dried matters too, as well as humidity during the grow and during drying too

Best method is probably to freeze dry with a proper freeze dryer but I doubt many people have that kind of a set up ?

Also if you make extract that will normally have more smell and flavor

I've had one growing experience.

I think it has to do with genetics, how the plant was grown, but very very importantly CURING.

This is how my buds smelt

-Day 1 off the plant, my buds smelt sweet and dank
-day 2-14 my buds smelt like hay
-day 14-2 months my buds smelt pretty bomb. Most of them were pretty heavy citrus, my plants smelt like oranges. Did not quite have that "Kick you in the nose bud feel you want"
-After 2 months in the jar (Never letting my buds getting too dry, they always stayed quite moist.) they had the kick you in the nose smell your are looking for.

They were smokable at all phases, but i noticed a clear BAM at 2 months.

My personal experience
