Compost bin looks like this… that could be mixed better or maybe dumped out.I have a compost going (started 7 yrs ago) and have lots of bugs/degradation going on. I could add some of that on top but it tends to stay kind of wet cause of all the veggie scraps.

Sounds like you may need to serperate your compost.I have a compost going (started 7 yrs ago) and have lots of bugs/degradation going on. I could add some of that on top but it tends to stay kind of wet cause of all the veggie scraps.
ThxSounds like you may need to serperate your compost.
Look into a worm bin also. The castings are full of enzymes from the digestive tract of composting worms. It helps break down organic matter and they help condition the soil.
Omg yes. It only gets better. Just amend the pots as needed. Crazy to dump your soil imoSo I have 65G outdoor and I replace the soil every year. It’s by far the biggest expense. Are you guys/girls telling me I can use the same soil over and over?
Sorry if im Splashing this post @Sidram420
I hear ya. Less work, less cost, and better? I’m in!Omg yes. It only gets better. Just amend the pots as needed. Crazy to dump your soil imo
That was a great thread…learned a lot. thxDoesn't Jeremy use straw to hold things down? however straw would probably get eaten outdoors. I think with the soil layer on top of wood and leaves you are getting close to hugelkultur.
there is a thread about that https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/indoor-no-till-hugel-beds.1565348/
