Urine has ammonia in it. That's a nitrogen containing material, but in a form plants can't use. Yet.

Bacteria convert ammonia into nitrite and also from nitrite to nitrate, which plants can and readily will use. This is called the nitrification cycle, and is the basis for how many materials become nutrients for plants. It's also the basis of aquaponics.

So the short answer to your question about where to pee is in your fish tank.

I've heard rumors that it also contains L-aminos.
