Wow,
I have to say you ask a question with many many answers.
I am looking forward to a harvest and thru lots of research and PMs to trusted growers I have a plan.
check out Hightimes 2010 article on harvest.
just google it, I am using it as a guideline for my first plant dry/cure.

trimming when wet is easier, the buds are more pliable, and the leaves are soft, instead of crunchy and dry

So if I'm right I should cut the whole plant down cut all the leafs off of the buds as much as you can and then hang the plant upside down? Then place in jars when dry enough.

You can hang the branches after trimming or you could cut the buds off and dry them in tray, whatever type of setup that's the best for your situation.

there u go bud
i use a cardboard box with a little fan in it for small harvests, the fan is exhausting and there are holes opposite the fan, and strings going across the top of the box so i can hang the plants
you dont wan't a crap load of air going through the plants, you want to be pulling a light amount of air past the buds, to give them a slow even dry.

i whole hang dry for 3 days
cut the stalks into spears and remove fan leaves and at first space apart and then slowly bring them together until 8-10th or so day
then I carefully put the spears into a plastic bag to suck moisture from the mainstems back to the leaves, and i do a trim at this point.

if i think it needs a few more days to hang ill let it.
then i cut it up and put it into a paper bag, and from here i open/close it till it's ready to jar
