Also, the thing you have circled is indeed the preflower area and where the actual flower/calyx will appear, but the plant is not quite mature enough yet to know its sex. As it grows in veg, you may see either a pair of white hairs spring out from there (different than the 2 green spikes on each side of that node) or it'll start developing 'balls' which are baby pollen sacs. The time it takes for them to appear varies as widely as strains vary (I hate that answer :) ), but (very generally) start looking around the 6th to 8th nodes and see if you can guess the sex. It could take another couple weeks to a month to see sex if you're not in any hurry or worried about watering/ferting for that time, or it'll show sex pretty quickly when you go into flower mode.

My main reason for ever worrying about sexing is to ID the females and take the clones before switching over, versus cloning from flower which is more stressful to the donor plant.

If it is 'Male' it does not produce seeds...
The Males produce pollen that causes a bud [female] to catch a small amount of this male pollen then it will produce a seed....
You may be confused by the Male part hanging down 'Balls' are not seeds either...
Good Luck....other than that, your answer was happy....
i did not say a male produced seeds you queef. I think you are the one who may be "confused"

Jackm if it has two little white hairs its a female and will produce nice flowers. Top and train early and you will be happy

topping it wont stress it or make it hermi, youve got plenty of nodes, and shoots, looks like it will kick ass if you top it,theres tons of info in here on all the stuff the other guy mentioned,i prefer toping if i want to keep the plant easy to care for and somewhat smaller in the 2-3 foot range

(ive toped them outdoors before, and had them reach over 6 foot and produce 14 to 20 main buds over 2 foot long,so its just a matter of what you want in that large grow area)
